These are the real dancers of this world with their back-flips, pirouetting, somersaults and leaps through the air. Ballet is the true source from which all other modern dances emanate. Tommy Rall and my Lisa Gaye were both Ballet exponents. Just look at the calves and thighs of these ballet dancers in Tutus and Tights. Both Tommy and Lisa were blessed with the best shapely legs ever. May Ballet live on forever plus the memory of both Tommy Rall and the beautiful, Lisa Gaye.

Depends on what you mean by “modern dance”. Modern dance likely evolved from traditional dance and improvisation. Like classical music, Ballet belongs to a exclusionary art forms that reside solely in the realm of the aristocracy. Saying ballet is the true source of modern dance is like saying classical music is the source of hip hop and rock and roll, when we know that the real source was grassroots musical movements like jazz and blues - which depends on musical rather than sheet music. Some say that modern dance was the result of a rebellion against the rigid structure of classical ballet.

It was a great, varied Olympia this year. Sadly, Theo Leguerrier had no business in the show. It was his worst presentation to date. I had such high hopes for Leguerrier as a competitor but I think he's plateaued and it's all downhill from now.
