When Orr played it was so different. I'm not saying that Orr wasn't good, but if you had some skill, the gap between yourself and the rest was much.. MUCH.. bigger. It was easier to be a super star.

He is the best defenseman that ever played . In the NHL. He is the perfect human. You couldn't ask to be on any team in the NHL or any City a lot of teams passed Nicholas Lindstrom.. good wherever he went.. what team he played for in the NHL. Adding to the number of regular season games he missed: Most of them was missed because the head coach would rest him for the last couple of games before the playoffs almost every year, so he'd be fresh for the playoffs. So he missed less than 20 games to injury throughout his entire career.

Dude; these presentations are some of the best ice hockey documentaries ive ever seen. I put them on during work and just listened to the audio. These were so well done; you dont even need to see whats on screen to experience it. Well done, man. These are brilliant. Nice piece. Pronouncing some of the Swedish towns is hard. Also, I think mentioning the most important team mate is missing here. Lidström and Holmström are friends off the ice, and they played a very efficient power play over many years in Detroit. You should have mentioned Holmström. How about a piece about him?

Those of you comparing Lidrtom to Bobby Orr are not really grasping the bigger picture. Was Lidstrom one of the best defensemen ever--? Yeah, he's definitely top 10. Not a definite Top 5, but maybe there's a case. ... Even if you remove Bobby Orr... Bourque and Coffey have twice as many goals as Lidstrom... and MacInnis and Housely were damn good as well as Murphy. Now, getting back to Orr-- Bourque, Coffey, Lidstrom are all in the discussion for Top 10 Defense of all time... But remember, Bobby Orr was one of the greatest hockey players of all time. The dude won the scoring title on defense. For those that bring up Era as a knock on Orr. Remember, it cuts both ways. Because if he played today he would have played a lot longer with better knee surgeries. I'd be pleased with Lidstrom any day. The guy's a winner. But let's not get too crazy. There's a difference between being top 10 or top 5 in your position vs being one of the best of all time regardless of position.
