His playstyle was not really what ended his career. It was his damn feet that did, which did not really have anything to do with his physical style. Forsberg was the most exciting player I have ever seen, I wish he could have been healthy.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say "pound for pound" he was better than The Great One. If Lindros played in Gretzky's era when the Oilers peaked, his numbers would have been just as good if not better. Man was a physical beast who would have ruled in a time when the goalies sucked, the bulk of the Western Conference was a joke and the Oilers were stacked to the hilt.

But suppose Yzerman had Jari Kurri on his wing while coached by Bowman. He could maintain his 80s-era scoring pace, while maintaining defense.

in 91' my Dad ran into the Russian team when they were shopping, he had enough Russian to talk to the Coach. They were goin ballistic over game consoles and other stuff in the mall they could buy and smuggle back to Russia. We then saw Fedorov play against Canada and I will never forget it; I didn't know someone could move that fast, it was simply unreal for a kid like me. There were stories of how the Russians trained, skating around the rink with cement blocks behind them to build strength and speed.

Osgood's stats are better than Fuhrs, and the team in front of him wasn't any better than the Oilers of those years, yet Ozzie still gets the shaft.

As a lifelong Devil's fan I respect what he did for us and his power. That Kariya hit was so late and unnecessary. He ended that man's career. He doesn't even remember the goal 😢

The New Jersey Devils had such a stout defence. I remember reading in the Hockey News of the number of shots on Martin Brodeur in particular games--under twenty sometimes.

No arguments here. Joe is a class act through and through. I've only even had one problem with Joe Sakic! He never played for my Flyers! 😜 And yes....in hindsight, which is often 20/20, the Flyers should have kept Forsberg and let Lindros go to the Rangers....lol. Flyers likely would've won a cup in the 90s had they. But....such is life. Peter eventually came home but, a little too late.....lol. . So.... living in Phoenix and heartbroken the Coyotes got ran outta town.... Will Utah repeat the Quebec/Colorado first year cup? I know my Flyers ain't winning it this year. Not sure if I would be happy for the former Yotes (Yeti.... horrible name for an NHL club) or pissed off! Probably the later!

I miss this man. I lived in the Soo on the American side across from Soo, Ontario and he loved to drink and fight even then. Back then the bars in Canada closed down at 8 pm and you couldn't buy alcohol anywhere after that unless you came across the river to Sault Ste Marie Michigan where you could buy duty free alcohol and the bars didn't shut the doors until 2:30 am. Probert was a regular in n the bars and he was really quite funny when he was ripped to shit.
