Piper at the Gates of Dawn was interesting, but far from their best work. It showed the bands potential, and penchant for oddity. However, it's also a bit of a mess, and lacked the polish/cohesion of later works like Meddle.

I'll agree that this was the best music-related announcement of the last 20 years. I remember the first time I saw a description of this group and what it intended to do. I stared at the screen for about 30 seconds, and then thought "This is f-ing brilliant!". I knew Guy Pratt from Icehouse and from playing with Pink Floyd, and I was sure that Nick wouldn't bother to do this at all unless he was absolutely confident he had musicians which could do justice to the early material of Floyd. Absolute genius move. I've pre-ordered the DVD/blu-ray, and am really looking forward to it. A big 👍👍👍👍👍 to everyone involved!

I got the pleasure to see Waters perform The Wall with my dad. This show was so amazing it brought tears to my eyes at times. I NEVER thought I’d ever hear some of the songs performed in this show live and I was thrilled to hear tracks from Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Saucerful of Secrets. Not as amazing as The Wall, but in its own right one of the best shows I’ve been to.

I started listening Pink Floyd from their first works. When I was 14 there was a juke-box version of this tune in the bar close to my school, in 1972. Then I got the whole Meddle, and all the albums before Dark Side. A few years later I went to study at a friend's home and he had the last PF music-cassette, TDSOTM. But I could not believe they were them! Even if I had a preview in Pink Floyd at Pompeii, when they were working to the first track, I didn't expect the saxophone and even less the soprano in The Great Gig In the Sky! Thank you for sharing. Beatiful memories after 50 years
