Hi. I had a small music shop in Turkey . I used to sell music cassettes,albums. I'm 57 now. I have been listening Led Zeppelin over 40 years with the same exact joy. I even had a chance to small chit chat with them that showed me how amazingly humble they were. They were the most important famous people I met in my life. They were so normal, sincere and gentlemen. No complimants or anything. We talked for about 20-25 minutes and drank tea with Robert.After the concert was finished I tried to learn where do they would stay in.Next day I''ve found and waited by the hotel.When Robert went out I kissed him and hugged him. He Asked me about the previous day's concert performance.I said time passed so fast like a dream. I said I came about 1000 km from my town Adana to İstanbul for the concert he said please drive carrefully. I took LZ 3 LP (which I've bought and brought back to that concert) in İtaly when I was 21 y.o. in 1983 and they signed the album LZ 3 Long Play. I even had a chance to small chit chat with them that showed me how amazingly humble they were. I was waiting for Jimmy, he was crouching and shopping at a peddler who sold cheap imitation watches near the hotel street. I talked to him for 5-6 minutes. He was also gentleman, sincere like a normal person. I loved them more because they are the most important band of history (according to me) and so normal people like a teacher or friends. I am hoping that I don't die before them and they keep playing their amazing music. Lucky me. I've also met Michael Lee. RİP Michael.Lee and Bonzo.You're the greatest drummers of all. At the concert it was forbidden taking photos.Security took the film from my camera.But I've hidden another film in my socks.So I've taken many photos:) There were somebody who recorded the all the sound of the concert his hands in the air all night long.After 30 years I've found him in internet.He'll give me the recordings of the concert and I'll give him the night's photos. @roseannemorales780 Well, he actually did it for his deceased friend & beloved band member John Henry Bonham because this was the first time he had picked up a guitar publicly since his passing- an incredible,heart felt expression, not to be critiqued- how can you critique such an incredible out pouring of sheer emotion? Or perhaps you weren't aware of this..in which case you shouldn't speak if you don't really know - see how you can accidentally be disrespectful trying to bag on Page - " not the cleanest, best..Sssswho the fk else has ever played it before on guitar? NOBODY- So , wrong- it IS the cleanest & best version bcuz its the only version of its kind- point being it should be appreciated, not critiqued- considering the heartwrenching circumstances -R.I.P. Jimmy Page. What can I say. He’s probably my biggest inspiration on guitar and has been for about the first time I picked up a guitar. It’s not just speed or the riffs, it’s his sense of rhythm. I play a lot of Led Zeppelin because it’s fun to play but I always come back to the recordings to work on the “swing” that Jimmy Page has when he recorded these songs. If it weren’t for Jimmy Page’s killer riffs, I may never have stick with playing guitar.

Not only Brilliant, and smart, sweet, funny and kind, but he is the most gorgeous creature I’ve ever seen, here esp. This makes my heart ache because he is the only guitarist (musician) I know of that uses his entire body to play the guitar, not just his hands. He feels it like no other. He’s a musical genius... I know some disagree, but it’s my (and thousands/millions) of others who feel the same way I do. My opinion, my life soundtrack, thank god.

@@tomasvanecek8626 It showed me that rock musicians have a musical knowledge which covers more genres, including classical. Here he plays on guitar the Prelude of Chopin in E minor, also nicknamed Suffocation, due to its sadness. Few realize this is classical music (well Chopin was more a romantic composer) Search for Prelude E minor, Chopin.
@@tomasvanecek8626 The literal title of this video is “Jimmy Page’s CHOPIN PRELUDE N.4.” I hope you’re a troll, because there is no way someone can be that “silly” and claim this has “nothing in common with classical music.” It literally is a classical piece? That Chopin wrote? And it’s in the gosh darn title? It’s understandable if you are unfamiliar with classical music, but you claim to have played “classical guitar” for years, so it’s surprising you never came across this piece before and don’t recognize it. Jimmy is not the composer of this piece; Chopin is. Get off your high horse. Unless you’ve been doing so many hard dr*gs to the point of misunderstanding ilikechopin8112’s comment to THAT extent, there is no excuse for your rude reply to them. You have to remember, other than the concert movie, this was the first video of Page that made it to TV. It was a really different era back then. Zeppelin did not do the Latenight rock concerts in the 70s, so unless you went to a concert, you never saw them.
@stephencastro14373 жыл бұрын
Your comment here is completely incorrect. This is not from a TV broadcast at all!! There are many clips from european TV the feature Jimmy from his early teens playing a Skiffle number, and also quite a few clips of Zeppelin throughout it's reign. So you are quite incorrect and they are available to see here! This video was from the ARMS tour to benefit multiple Sclerosis, and his friend Ronnie Lane who was suffereng from this defvastating disease, and is not from the 70's! Nor was it from a television broadcast. This is the video footage taken of the tour. It is also not the first appearance of Jimmy on television!!!! There are many clips of Jimmy on TV from the 70's recorded throughout europe and England. There is also the footage of Jimmy and Jeff Beck playing in the Yardbirds together from the film "Blow Up" in the late 60's! This It is from early 83 as I saw the ARMS tour (I was in Highshool). Sadly, it was also the tailend of Jimmy's addiction with heroin (he might have just kicked it prior to this tour but you can still see the effects on him). He had not toured in a while, and was pulled out of a self imposed exile from playing by Clapton and Beck for this tour. Unfotrtunately, this is painful to watch as he is clearly not playing well. It could be because of his addiction and nerves not having performed live in a while. Thankfully, he overcame his addiction. You should not jump to conclusions such as this if you do not know your facts. Just saying!

With Jimmy some clips are great and some are unbelievable but there are only two things anyone ever needs to know about Jimmy Page and don't you dare dispute these: 1. He's the greatest guitar player of all time 2. Even still, he's vastly underrated If Zep had been able to prevail through the tragedies of the late 70s and endured into the 80s and 90s we might still have real rock music today.
