I purchased one of these, I must be setting up incorrect. You said to set it where the bit is slightly less than the brushes, when I do that the dust boot doesn't have enough room to attach to the router

Are you talking about not being able to attach the upper unit at the rear of the router? Or are you saying the the bit is too low after probing to attach the lower unit? Not sure I understand your question…

do you need to take it off to home machine, with the suck it adjustments need to be made to home

You just take off the lower body that’s magnetically attached to upper body (which is clamped to router
