@@andrewanderson1755I don't think that's what they were saying to be fair. People can redeem themselves, became better in legitimate and meaningful ways Sometimes the best gimmicks/stage personas, etc. lie in between the truth and fiction His creative and musical career for the last two decades at least (which has not been the only work he's had to do to make a living in that time) has been centered and boosted around a crazy outlaw rock n roll image. It is in part a character and he knows that, but not everyone does. Some believe that every lyric and storied antic are true, not all of them are.. The lyrics are music, his art. whether or not you think it's good or valid. And for most people he meets outside of being that, he acts like himself, not the character, because he has some humility, obviously by how he discussed being uncomfortable doing those awful meet and greets with fans. You can tell in some interviews and I'm sure meeting him on a good day that he considers others and shows respect, and isn't just some crazy monster of a man, though we all have different facets and sides to us.. I know Nick has done some awful things, but that doesn't mean he's an awful person

Lanegan sang the opening track on Lullabies, since then, all he has done are backups. In my opinion, QOTSA were almost like the modern day CSNY during the Songs for the deaf and R albums. Homme wants to be the only frontman, and that's okay, it's his band that he started. But it's my opinion that QOTSA were more complete with Nick and Mark.

Even if that were true, fame isn't Josh's game. It's making music. Between Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Them Crooked Vultures, and any other project Homme has a part in, he's already proven himself as not only a consistent performer, but a superior musician.

That's not the source of the lawsuit. Kyuss Lives were working on a live recording and new album, and they DON'T have the right to do that stuff without 2/3 of the original LEGAL group named Kyuss - and that would be Josh Homme, John Garcia and Scott Reeder. Brant Bjork doesn't hold any legal power of any single Kyuss song. The problem derives from the fact that Kyuss Lives were given permission to do live performances ONLY, but they tried to record a live album, and that's against the agreement

Well, chances are, if he's "rambling", he's probably trying to tell you the situatiation in his own way. Several of the times when you interrupted him I was actually interested in seeing where he was going with it, but you didn't let him speak. And honestly, people who come here to watch it are probably more interested in hearing what he has to say than to you. Other than that, your credibility as a journalist sinks even lower when your comment has homophibic content and no capital letters.

Homme obviously wrote all of Kyuss songs and then Reeder was a great complement to Homme's playing - end of story. Garcia stated that even for his own solo material he had a bunch of guitarists sending him material (because of him being a legend as the singer of Kyuss) These guys ain't no songwriters so there you have it, they don't really own the Kyuss catalogue

He talks like a lot of people I knew growing up who are decent and humble, but can't work through their feelings. Like the kind of guys who shove their boss over some minor issue. They act out on other people but it's like they don't take violence that seriously and so they just resort to it instead of talking shit through or letting things slide. And they always have an excuse because there will always be a next time. Frankly Josh Homme is violent too and seems less repentant about it. I always got along more with guys like Nick as long as they weren't roommates or neighbors. But they can be a little scary because they always seem like they're on edge and can overreact to stuff.

Josh was a key member of that band and wrote most of the music. All members received royalties equally through a trust that would of course go to their children some day. The members waited for a one hour period during each year when the contract is open for change (every legal contract has this even your mortgage) and without Josh present cut him out. He had no choice but to sue to keep his body of work that he is proud of and that his children and children's children should reap from. Nick is an asshole, he is a junkie that beats woman and he is not the best singer and bass player by a long shot. None of those guys have a bucket to pee in without Homme's success and that's the truth.

You clearly don't understand the situation. He's not suing Kyuss - He's suing Kyuss Lives. They wanted to make a live album and cut everyone out of the royalties. So Kyuss Lives would be making all of the money off of Josh Homme's intellectual property. There was a deliberate legal agreement when Kyuss disbanded that would have to be respected in order for the name Kyuss to be used again - and those regulations weren't adhered to. It's much more of a dick move by John and Brant.

True, that's maybe one way to look at it; they could of MAYBE spent more time in there, and possibly produced something closer to lullabies, which i think was good. Aye i saw them live in may 2011, in Glasgow o2 academy, i think they were tight and good, but just lacking in something, which I think they have done since about 04. Their lullabies lineup was awesome, i mean alain johannes is boss, but 2000 i think was their best lineup. not that i saw them live then, but based on vids on here.

It wouldn't be, it's definitely not what Josh or anyone else wanted for Kyuss Lives! Josh initially gave them the thumbs up too, because he wanted to see his friends bring back Kyuss, even if he didn't want to be a part of it. But with all of them scrambling for the royalties for songs Josh already wrote, they've thrown Kyuss into a pit of legal drama that I know Josh would never have wanted in the first place. Such a shame.

I agree that Era is the weakest record but for an album that was written in the studio in a few months it turned out pretty good. The current line up is tight as fuck live, check out misfit love on the rollins show. Can't wait for the new record.

Absolutely. I would too if I threw Nick out of my band for constantly being strung out and beating his girlfriends. But Josh hasn't said anything about Nick since probably around 2005 or 2006. It's in the past now. The only thing Josh has said about the legal problems now, is in an official statment he released that's no longer than a paragraph. Everyone in Kyuss Lives on the other hand is running to Rolling Stone magazine for interviews bashing Josh, or for video chats like this one. It's sad

Except that there was a lawsuit taking place awhile ago that was resolved, resulting in the re-union, Bill leaving has nothing to do with the suing it's to do with contract negotiations

No worries, we're all entitled to our own opinions man. Many people just have problems coherently expressing them ha. Undoubtedly though, Kyuss was a really great band in its day
