My thoughts exactly. Nick is behaving in the most irresponsible and immature way possible as a *father* of five minor children. And he’s being a total hypocrite. He could have stepped up and tried to negotiate with the court while admitting his failures - and this would have spared his wife of the mess and pain of a trial and his children of prolonged suffering and additional details about their parents’ s*x lives and activities - sh*t that will be on the internet forever. A negotiation of that sort would also have enabled Nick to avoid serious issues about his ability to practice law. Nick does not seem to be thinking about the welfare of his children really at all…very sad.

Thank you for laying this out so cleanly. Nick's attempt feels like a classic narcissitic reply to accusations. Which are like "oh, I'm so bad, huh, well what about how terrible how you are? How about how bad everyone else is? You're too terrible of a person to hold me to a standard!" Classic deflection. Then add on, "oh no one was hurt" when referring to the kids, is another classic sign, they constantly down play the severity of their issues and magnifying other people's foibles. The only hope I have for him is that drug use can cause/exagwrate narcissistic traits. So if he gets clean and gets therapy, there may be hope that he cab recover. However, since he's displaying the short sightedness to think these arguments should surely work, I doubt he'll get to that point very soon.

Hard to express my sadness and disappointment for this mess. I bacame a fan of Nick's channel back when he had like 5k subs and really enjoyed his informal style, his offbeat humor and the values he expressed at the time. Stopped watching during his illconceived drink off with Kurt and stopped even popping in to see how he was doing when nothing improved. Some people just aren't equipped to manage themselves when they become successful. He managed to destroy his life, his home, his marriage, his career, his professional integrity and his children's futures inside a few months. I hope for the sake of his children that he finds his way, but until he owns his behavior he won't and I have no patience for his protests of somehow being a victim here, especially after what he exposed his children to.
