April might be right where Nick wants her. His parents probably wouldn't go along with him getting a divorce. If we don't know the details of the trust fund, it might be set up in a way that large purchases need approval by the executor of the trust. That would be a lawyer or his parents. So Nick may have just wanted a mistress and nothing more. But if he told April this, she may have not bothered with him at all. He has her isolated and she has no real privacy. Having April at an adjacent property where she can't come and go as she pleases, because she can't drive is only part of it. Any visitors she has over to the house she's at have to drive by Nick house to get there. I'm sure Nick has cameras outside, so he can see who comes to visit her. No internet was to keep her from finding out what's really going on with the case. All she knew about it is what Nick told her possibly? Also does the mail go to each house? Or only to a box by Nick's place because it's on the main road? Meaning if Nick gets to the mailbox first he can intercept her mail? If he's really trying to control her, he could even place a listening device or 2 in the house? Is April's where Nick wants her? When Kayla leaves for a bit, Nick can summon April over for sex, then send her away. If she is addicted to drugs and Nick is supplying them, she might be unable to leave due to her addiction? Then entering rehab might be the only safe way to leave as stopping drugs one is addicted to all at once can cause horrible withdraw symptoms. So might not want to leave because he's basically her dealer? Or she doesn't have the insurance to enter rehab? Plus if people found out she went to rehab it's like an admission that everything the cops said was true. Is she what was called a "kept woman?" The only way Nick would get her to go along with this in the beginning was to make her think that he would leave his wife for her. Maybe he made her believe this, even though he had no intention of ever leaving his wife. Is it dawning on her that she might be being used yet?
