Lol North Carolina probably has the worst hell scape of new construction. Honestly there’s hardly a home with good architecture. Everything new is just either California or new York modern white grey black, or the cheapest possible manufacturer homes of 150k value listed for 450k for the lowest trim. Truly the worth state in the union for homes, fine to live.

If you had $68k lying around, that beater house wouldn't be a bad first place to buy, given that there's no black mold. It was built in 1990, so even if it's a spina bifida house, it's probably structurally fine. There's no way a bank would give you any kind of loan, though. And you're looking at $20-50k in non-structural repairs.
