Today, I explain the investing strategy that Nick Sleep (Nomad Investment Partnership) mastered to achieve a 921% return over his 13year career. We look deep into his Shareholder Letters to find the gems he shared, and look at some clips from Mohnish Pabrai's interviews to see how Nick and his Partner Qais Zakaria destroyed the market over their investment careers. We also take a look inside the Nomad portfolio to see what stocks propelled most of their returns (Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, Costco)

I'm a year late. But excellent video! I have a question. I know hindsight is 20/20. You will only know you're investing in a great company after the fact. So even if we look at the walmart example. How could Nick Sleep possibly have known Walmart when it was trading at $0.34 cent back in 1984 would be successful? Back than i'm assuming walmart would of went public pre revenue making it a speculative play.

I think even Sleep told his investors after he closed his fund to just keep with the three investments (BRK, COSTCO and AMZN) he had at the close. I need to read the letters in full

Yes haha he's good to watch watch for sure I was gonna make a full video on Asos but I haven't got around to it yet.. it's one I'm unsure about as an investment and I can't see what Nick sees in the business. I'm not sure why they have an advantage over their competitors.

What is the percentage he allocate for each stock??

It changed a lot throughout his career, but toward the end I believe around 80-90% of total portfolio was in 3 stocks (Amazon, Costco, BRK). I heard somewhere that at one stage, Amazon was 60% of his portfolio! I suggest reading his letters as it gives more information about allocation :)

Nick's strategy is the same as Buffett's philosophy of "buying good businesses at fair prices". Where's the difference?

They are very similar. I would say Nick is a disciple of Buffett (and Munger) and expands on their philosophy. For example, Buffett talks about psychology and moats in investing, but imo Nick goes many layers deeper when discussing these topics which helps me have a better understanding of it. His letters gave me more clarity than Buffetts did, even though they are excellent also.

I would say that Nick Sleep’s investing style is like Charlie Mungers but on steroids (not in terms on results though, they are similar)

Yeah I totally agree! I said something similar in a recent video lol :) some of his best ideas and lessons are derived from ideas of Charlie
