It's appreciated to hear you point out the disdain for a successful woman, where a man would be praised in the same situation. It puts a hole in their "point" that woman aren't as strong as men so they have to accuse them of secretly being men...

That boxer does look trans tho. As a bio woman I don’t support trans women competing against bio women in sports. And that applies to trans women who prefer not to disclose that they are trans. Conservatives are actually rooting for bio women’s athletic rights on that one Nick.

I just LOVE the way you talk about this. So knowledgeable and supportive, while looking like you were going to the opera. You deserve a gold medal for both the outfit, and the actual contents of the video 🥇 And thank you for your commentary on the unspeakable boxing drama. I feel so sorry for that poor woman. Imagine qualifying for the Olympics because you're just so good in your sport, but all anyone talks (talks? Rants and reviles!) about is whether you're really a man. EDIT: USA, I did make it to the end :) (twice, actually)

What little I know is that almost everyone stepped off of the beam. No one had a perfect routine aside from the athlete from Italy. The general consensus was that there was an unexplained decision to not have any music playing as they would typically. The gymnasts were thrown off by how quiet the gym was.

I watched last night! Out of the 7-8 women who were competing on the beam, all but 2 fell off. Completely off. Everyone had trouble balancing and had more wobbles than usual (I've watched the entirety of women's gymnastics 2024). I was having flashbacks to Sydney wondering if something was wrong with the beam. And omg the female analyst was annoying the crap out of me, she kept going on and on about how bad everyone was. That's one of the reasons I hate commentators.

It’s so awesome to see so many grown women compete in gymnastics! I always felt sad for people in sports where you get your biggest moments before you are even 21. Back in the 80s & 90s, these girls would already be coaching or doing a few years on the spokesperson/speaker circuit. Or, god willing, in a new career with new goals. But to be bringing home the gold at 27, esp with taking significant time off to refocus (essential for longevity, I’d guess), well it’s a whole new world…

The Olympics just make me wish I shad rich parents who could have me trained in something cool. Only the runners don’t necessarily have (train from 3-5 years old history). But what makes the Brazilian gymnast’s story more incredible is that her parents weren’t rich. She joined an outreach programs and didn’t have the same recovery coaches, medical professionals and massage therapists helping her with injuries and recovery. So it means she had to work harder.

OMG I agree with the negativity towards China! How can you just assume someone is doping just because an athlete from your country didn't win...I love Đoković though, I was so happy he won, he's wanted this for so long.
@mikeformelyinbama5 ай бұрын
You need to look at China's track record with doping in swimming. They are notorious for doping. They had 3 athletes on the team that tested positive for illegal banned substances, yet China claimed it was food contamination.
