You only have to refrigerate eggs if you wash them. There's some kind of natural protective coating on the eggs that comes off if you wash them. In America the farming practices are usually more unsanitary, unsafe so it's required. If you get eggs from your own chickens and they're not covered in muck you can leave them unwashed, unrefrigerated.

The flanger effect was done at Abbey Road and other studios by having two tape machines playing the same sound in sync, and then applying slight pressure to the FLANGE of the supply reel on one of the machine, thus slowing it very slightly compared to the other deck and consequently creating a phase effect! Such a great episode!!!! I cant believe Nick's dad rocked to Dire Straits... must be a generational thing. My dad loves them too and I grew up listening to them. Somehow after all this years I still have a cassette from them, with Romeo and Juliet, sultans of swing.... oh the memories. As a homesteader in Canada I raise my own chickens for eggs; there’s a protective coating on eggs when they lay them and they can keep for a month min on the counter. But in the shops they have to be washed which removes this and making the eggs subject to need refrigeration.

I've read some comments under this video saying this was the most boring interview/guest - of course everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I just want to add that I very much enjoyed the episode. Yes, TFO had guests that I found more interesting, but I think the episode was still enjoyable & I would have never guessed that they would invite a bachelor-contestant to the show - and I love that. They have guests from various context and that's what makes this podcast a good mix for me. I also loved that they had the pb&pickle sandwiches 😋
