Don't forget that you can use soap to help your drawers glide open and closed. Loved to see the tools that my Grandfather and Father used still in use. It's an art that is getting lost in all of the power tools. Great job!

i give this young couple a lot of credit as they put many hours into the construction of this cozy little cabin working through all sorts of weather conditions. Your work seems to be of good quality and was well planned out. This young man is extremely fortunate to have a good woman by his side swinging a hammer nail for nail with him. Women these days aren't much for hard work or sacrifice or even living that type of lifestyle either to be completely honest. You struck gold with her young man, cherish her and I wish you both have a long and happy life together.

I love the fact that you pay so much attention to details: the trim around windows and doors are not just hammered into place and if a nail happens to go crooked, who cares? No, both said: it has to be neat, all the same neat corners, and the chairs were clean, restored, finished properly because this dwelling we want to live in with satisfaction, pleasure and pride!I know that you do not get paid for building this cozy cabin, but still you only get paid ONCE for doing a job right!! Be proud of what you were able to do. The sewing! I was astonished to see you pull out the sewing machine - WOW. This is the first time I’ve someone do that, although my mother used to sew all the clothing for her 5 boys (two sets of twins) during the Second World War and afterwards. And all on a manual machine! Enjoy your home and treat it with respect for it was built with a labour of LOVE!

Just discovered this channel and have been binge watching and I really enjoying. For those watching for inspiration of your own build, the only thing you might want to consider differently is keeping the heavy timber rafters exposed rather than covered up. No right or wrong here just preference. I personally think the exposed heavy timbers overhead can be quite dramatic.

I SALUTE YOU for your patience and perseverance. Here's a tip when driving screws into wood: Old timers used bar soap, petroleum jelly, leftover cooking fat, etc. into which one dips the screw(s) to lubricate them, making insertion easier (less friction) and makes removing these screws much easier. Why? Because the resins in the wood are heated and weld themselves to the screws especially with green, not kiln dried wood....spruce, pine, fir, etc.
