Great video Nick. The E010 was a great little quad back in the day, easily converted into an FPV whoop, which for someone like me it was great because I'm hopeless with Betaflight, so this RTF kit was great. it looks like the Eachine E017 is a version of the Holy Stone HS210 but with a few differences, the HS210 has a better shaped remote and comes with 220 Mah batteries which begs the question, why does the E017 come with only 150 Mah batteries. I am wondering if the E017 uses the same board as the Holy Stone HS210 but in the Eachine E017/JJRC H36 chassis, the 2 chassis are basically the same except the battery slot is just a tiny bit deeper to fit the thicker battery, i'm running a 260 Mah in my HS210. I tried finding out if the 017 does use the same props as the 010, H36 and HS210 but i couldn't find any props for sale, if they do use the same props i found that you can increase the flight time by probably a minute or more if you cut 2 of the blade off of each prop making it a 2 blade prop, I lost a little bit of punch out but it made a big difference in my flight time...FYI

@Fozzedout Жыл бұрын
Well, I did this. Used the TX01 transmitter. Biggest issue I find with this is that you are constantly fighting the altitude hold, it's either over or under compensating for the extra weight of the camera. So how do toy drones like this (sort of) maintain altitude, meanwhile "real" drones like the Mobula7 with Betaflight do not have that capability? Are the toys using gyro and accelerometer data to keep track of where they are and have moved? Similar question for the pseudo-return to home feature? Why can't Betaflight do this too?
@NickBurnsFPV6 ай бұрын
the "toys" generally only have what is often called level mode or angle mode. This being the quad is always try to hold level according to its last calibration. The mobula7 has the same sort of angle mode, but most who aren't new to fpv fly in rate or acro mode which is the opposite where we have to control the quad on all axis all the time.
@gsegallis6 ай бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV Thanks for the help! Ya, I have used angle and acro mode on the Mobula7, and I kind of prefer angle mode so it levels out if I release the sticks. But I still have to control the throttle to maintain altitude which is ok when I can see it. But when video drops out, I would like to hit a button, where I can release all sticks and have the drone level an maintain its altitude (approximately) until I can regain video (by walking around, since this usually happens outside when the drone is a few houses away). And having a button that would return-to-CLOSE-to-the-direction-of-home would be invaluable when I fly too far away and can't see which way I'm even pointed, which might help get my drone back in video range.

@@NickBurnsFPV I don't believe that these ever used the Bayang protocol as stock. The various iterations have used a variety of modified protocols since the original JJRC H36/Eachine E010 most of which are available for multi protocol radios. I believe (but may be wrong) that they were switched to the Bayang protocol only if they were flashed with Silverware.
@theoztreecrasher26472 жыл бұрын
Edit. Just checked the Multiprotocol list and it looks as if that was wrong and the very first iterations may well have been on Bayang and those are the ones that could possibly be flashed with the Silverware hacked software. All the newer ones (with red board and on) use different protocols.

For the price, looks like it might be a good brushed candidate for a relatively inexpensive FPV conversion, especially with a 4-in-1 radio! Thanks for the video! Fun to watch the LOS and conversion to FPV!

The E017 is new and this form factor has had many brands and names over the years. It may have been that price but I don’t recall it

There are versions that accept silverware, even brushless motors with modifications. A lot of tinkering is needed ofc but it still makes me feel that what we fly is grossly overpriced.
@NickBurnsFPV2 жыл бұрын
ah, yes that is right. I forgot about quicksilver on these brushed whoops.

This is what my friends and coworkers think I fly. Probably means I need new friends and coworkers. I tell them my parts list is around $200, and they send me something like this to show me I paid too much

Which one is better. e010 or e017

Recalling the e010 from 6 years ago is tough. My estimation is the e017 is better, it has more fancy flight fun features and the remote is a bit more refined.

I really wish all our fpv drones small and large had this ability to just hover in place. This would be really useful for beginners and experienced as well.
