Pass me that lovely little gun My dear, my darling one The cleaners are coming, one by one You don’t even want to let them start They are knocking now upon your door They measure the room, they know the score They’re mopping up the butcher’s floor Of your broken little hearts O children Forgive us now for what we’ve done It started out as a bit of fun Here, take these before we run away The keys to the gulag O children Lift up your voice, lift up your voice Children Rejoice, rejoice Here comes Frank and poor old Jim They’re gathering round with all my friends We’re older now, the light is dim And you are only just beginning O children We have the answer to all your fears It’s short, it’s simple, it’s crystal clear It’s round about, it’s somewhere here Lost amongst our winnings O children Lift up your voice, lift up your voice Children Rejoice, rejoice The cleaners have done their job on you They’re hip to it, man, they’re in the groove They’ve hosed you down, you’re good as new They’re lining up to inspect you O children Poor old Jim’s white as a ghost He’s found the answer that was lost We’re all weeping now, weeping because There ain’t nothing we can do to protect you O children Lift up your voice, lift up your voice Children Rejoice, rejoice Hey little train!We are all jumping on The train that goes to the Kingdom We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun And the train ain’t even left the station Hey, little train!Wait for me! I once was blind but now I see Have you left a seat for me? Is that such a stretch of the imagination? Hey little train!Wait for me! I was held in chains but now I’m free I’m hanging in there, don’t you see In this process of elimination Hey little train!We are all jumping on The train that goes to the Kingdom We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun It’s beyond my wildest expectation Hey little train!We are all jumping on The train that goes to the Kingdom We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun And the train ain’t even left the station

It would be a way different experience, imo. I grew *with* the characters of Harry Potter. They were going through the same things at the same time I was. what does it mean?
@MistaBaZ Жыл бұрын
@@antoniuerdei724 It could mean different things, depending on the listener. What the artist meant could very well be different from what many take away from it. "Hey little train, we're jumpin on... the train that goes to the kingdom." To some, that can be interpreted as greeting death with a bit of rejoice, possibly because of the idea of reconnecting with a lost loved one or being released from suffering. "I once was blind, but now I see" The verses that came before it were very melancholy and dark. Yet, in between each was that brief reprieve where children sang "o children, lift up your voice", which could very well be a warning as well as a call for kids to stand up. At the end of such somber verses to transition into that powerful chorus, which everyone returns to this video for, I hear two things: First is the possibility that everyone died in the story leading up to it and, as said, are reconnecting in the afterlife. "Have you left a seat for me" Second is the possibility of overcoming all that strife and hardship, even if barely, and being able to leave it all behind. They're rejoicing, they're alive. "Was held in chains, but now i'm free"

Lyrics: Pass me that lovely little gun My dear, my darling one The cleaners are coming, one by one You don’t even want to let them start They are knocking now upon your door They measure the room, they know the score They’re mopping up the butcher’s floor Of your broken little hearts O children Forgive us now for what we’ve done It started out as a bit of fun Here, take these before we run away The keys to the gulag O children Lift up your voice, lift up your voice Children Rejoice, rejoice Here comes Frank and poor old Jim They’re gathering round with all my friends We’re older now, the light is dim And you are only just beginning O children We have the answer to all your fears It’s short, it’s simple, it’s crystal clear It’s round about, it’s somewhere here Lost amongst our winnings O children Lift up your voice, lift up your voice Children Rejoice, rejoice The cleaners have done their job on you They’re hip to it, man, they’re in the groove They’ve hosed you down, you’re good as new They’re lining up to inspect you O children Poor old Jim’s white as a ghost He’s found the answer that was lost We’re all weeping now, weeping because There ain’t nothing we can do to protect you O children Lift up your voice, lift up your voice Children Rejoice, rejoice Hey little train!We are all jumping on The train that goes to the Kingdom We’re happy, Ma, we’re having fun And the train ain’t even left the station Hey, little train!Wait for me!

As a music producer, I want to say how I love that this track is so messy, so dense and loud yet so beautiful as well. From the strings, guitar and ambience in the beginning then to the loud drums, bass and piano all up to the vocal choirs from The Bad Seeds all blends together perfectly. Everytime I listen to this track I hear something new in the production and to a producer, that just warms my heart. Sorry if it got a lil bit too nerdy, this song is just heaven-sent.

This song has a special place in my heart. I always think of this song as a allusion to life itself, to the passing of time; of how the old gets replaced by the new. Poor old Jim is white as a ghost; he has finally 'seen the light': the end. He is going to die very soon, without anyone being able to shield him from his fate. He has to watch his children, the cleaners, take over from him. They can, and they will learn from where he went wrong and do things better. They will grow up, and they will gradually lift up their voices. The train we are all jumping on is death, and yes, it has a seat for everyone. We are all 'having fun' (or, better put, having ups and downs) until that train arrives. The singer realizes this and is no longer in chains but is finally free. That's just my interpretation though. Thank you Harry Potter and David Yates for letting me find this song! I lost count of how much times I have listened to it. It allows me to put any bad day into perspective.

They know what they're about to do. They are going to stop the dark lord. (I just woke up and i don't even speak english, but i love Harry Potter and this song an that scene creates some sort of pain on my chest... wich is beautiful and make me wish beeing there). I know this song of cource from Deathly Hallows too but whenever I hear it, there is a whole other world that comes to my mind... This song reminds me of my time I had in the army when I had to serve my military service. There were some early mornings where I had to catch the bus that would take us - young soldiers - back to our units after the day off we had. Around 5:30 we were all sitting in that bus, looking tired depressed and very sleepy. We all seemed scared and lost at 18 having to serve was not optional. I had my mp3 player and I would listen to this while waiting for the bus to take off. Even though we didnt know each other, we all were at the same position, day by day we all became friends and we made some amazing memories togehter in that dark envirotment. 'Children' may seem like a word refering to our yet to become adult selves that were struggling to survive this way of growth. And the line 'We're happy, Ma, we're having fun And the train ain't even left the station' I always combined the train with the bus and it was like reasuaring my mother that there is no need to worry that we are happy just based on the friendships that we all had. So it's been a long time to hear this song and now those cold stressful nights come in my mind!

It’s about kids not knowing they’re on a train to concentration camps so not a happy song

@@JestaDid It is, but that's true that melody have this weird abbillity to make happy and calm. That's why for me this is masterpiece, lyrics makes you worrying and sad, while melody is calming and a bit happy. It's unnerving, how weird set of emotions this music is waking within people.

I read the books as they came out. Was just a kid. Watched the movies as they came out. I hadn't gone back to it for years, just rewatched it all the other day and got curious about this song. Sitting here on my own listening and reading the lyrics and I just burst out crying... Jesus music is amazing.

I never understood the “true fans” saddened by the fact, that most people that fame here know this only from Harry Potter. The important part is, we’re all listening to the song now, and we can focus on it and appreciate it, so isn’t that a good thing?

Or maybe people find Harry Potter as deep as this song too?

People can find both deep and both deep separately.
