I'm 50 &bwas raised Southern Baptist. Our church made us watch this every Sunday as part if our Sunday School class. This is what younger kids did while the kids 10 & up went to Youth Group. I had totally forgotten about this show & I think you just helped me discovered where my extreme fear of this style of puppet stems from. My family always teased me & called it an irrational fear. To them it didn't make any sense because I never really watched Howdie Doodie with my older sisters. Never watched a horror movie with one of these puppets in it. And oddest of all, Jim Henson creations have never scared me. Quite the contrary, I've always found his Gelflings etc intriguing & comforting. Even his bigger creations with a person inside the puppet never scared me. But THIS show, your clips of this show brought a flood of memories rushing back in & it's no wonder I have Complex PTSD that began as a result of my childhood in an extremely strict Christian household where blanket training begins as as soon as a baby can scoot & roll over & a "Bible Beating" was a literal punishment. Even though this brought back dark memories, thank-you for posting it. A healing journey with an ending is 1 thing, a healing journey with a definite beginning has better chance of success.

I really don't blame anyone for wanting to remove the show from circulation. It would be a magnet for fiends. The people who worked with the bizarre freak on the show are probably more than happy to disassociate themselves from the vile, ghoulish creature. The internet conversations between the malevolent scum are the stuff of nightmares. Great doc. Respect from Ireland.

i heard from somewhere that predators always find a way to work closely with children. kids tv show, bus driver, cleaner at school, etc etc. they will always find a way to surround themselves with children. so scary.

I think the thing that hits me most is this crazy maniac, Ronald Brown, died in 2020. 2020. That was only four years ago that man was alive. I often listen to these videos not thinking about the timestamps described, until I hear a year that was particularly recent. It makes me feel sick to my stomache to think I was alive during the same time as somebody like that.. Great video as always, Nick. Love the editing and the way you tell these horrid true stories.

It’s also crazy that the show ran until 2005 and somehow managed to almost completely escape public archiving. To put into perspective how recent that was, it would have shared the air with Spongebob for six years. It outlasted Invader Zim by two years, and it would have been broadcast at the same time as Kim Possible, Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, Ben Ten and Avatar the Last Air Bender. This is crazy recent to just be so completely, and so successfully scrubbed from existence, regardless of what happened behind the scenes.

If that makes you sick please don’t spend too long thinking about how many people just like him you currently live alongside. Walking past you. How many are working with children in your neighborhood. Being kind friendly neighbors. Community pillars. Just so they can have a mask to hunt their prey and commit atrocities and unspeakable acts of violence and depravity.

I wanted to come in here to say thank you for reporting so honestly on this. I watched this video without realizing how deep it went but I was a victim of one of the people caught in the subsequent arrests. I didn't even know that's how he got caught until I was looking at the time frame and realized it was the same operation. I cried, because I wasn't ready but again I'm glad to see people talking about these things. If you see something, tell someone. I mean it.

I have to agree.yes predators can be any gender. Some younger and some older. But iv had a kidnapping attempt on my daughter by an older man who I pulled a gun on and the police got him. honestly, i feel bad for the shows creator. you put 20 years of effort into your baby, your child. something you believed in and enjoyed doing but all because of a action you had no control over nor did you know what was happening, no one remembers the show nor the hard work you did. its almost like you wasted 20 years for nothing in return. the show now is remembered for some sick minded individual on set more than what it was meant to be about.

I feel like it's kinda the opposite. He thought about way, way too much but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Maybe him preaching it was some kind of sick self-gratification or a verbal lashing of himself - idk if it's right to assume. In my experience it's far too common for people who are very vocal about these kinda things (purity, bad thoughts, perversion, stuff of that nature) to be secretly doing it behind closed doors
