The whole point is although the restaurant in the movie IS IN FRANCE, the personality of the chef, the team in the kitchen, and the physical layout of the restaurant is based on Thomas Keller’s famous Napa Valley restaurant in CALIFORNIA, and the reason they made the final dish ratatouille is because it was Thomas Keller’s favorite dish. Really interesting tidbit, and I think it’s really cool he worked on the movie!
