Watched this fully, and...I ain't gonna sugarcoat it: the games looks like trash, and the "final smashes" weak. It's basically just: Send out beam > check if enemy is within beam > show poorly-animated cutscenes > add 40% damage and do knockback. Even Brawl wasn't that bland with its Final Smashes, and actually tried to have each one a little more unique to the fighters.

The issu I have is that none of them are different to one another. Every special move does the same amount of damage and has a flashy animation. Every attack dealing the same amount of damage immediately kills any kind of tier list potential other then 'animation look funni cool'. Not to say they're bad but they just feel lifeless and don't show hownone character is stronger than the other. It's just kindnof disappointing. Not to mention every final smash has an activation box in front of them, which again, removes any kind of personality. And when comparing to Ssbu, it shows how much less of an impact these have than ssbu's final smashes

The Final Smashes are a great idea with the new slime meter mechanic. However it seems like Final Smashes were a rushed idea (execution-wise). I hope in future versions they touch up on the Final Smashes with better animation, character expressions (for the targetted players), stage effects (e.g after Reptar's final smash, there's fire present and it slowly dies down), and sound effects. For example, Squidward's final smash cutscene can perfectly end when the opponent is smacked away, however then it shows Beautiful Squidward poofing back into normal Squidward. One more thing, for balance change, make the Final Smashes give more damage, as saving the meter for a potential Final Smash (which may not target your opponent at all) does not seem worth it if the other slime mechanics are more useful.

The one thing I hate (and Smash Ultimate kind of did this as well) is that all the character's ultimates are exactly the same from a gameplay perspective.

Yeah. Made with competitive intent in mind. Or rather, just made to be balanced. They can be blocked, too. There's better ways to use meter, too.

The quality of them tend to vary significantly. And some just don't seem like they really fit, or other sequences would have been better suited. The Angry Beavers for instance. Dagget, I can see it failing and him stomping away, but Norbert would fire it correctly and play it off with cool confidence.

The poor and lazy animation is why this game will never be more than a poor mans Smash Bros. These could've been great if animated better

A very special touch would have been to animate each ultimate with the original animation style of the show from which the character comes
