You know, it feels like it was only yesterday that everyone was trying too hard to rip off Spongebob. For instance, remember Coconut Fred? In many ways, I like to say that Gumball is this decade's equivalent of Spongebob in many ways, both being very charming, quotable, and appealing to both kids and adults alike. This show, however will never have the same heart or soul that Gumball has. Miracle Star was a freaking Chinese bootleg, LITERALLY, and even _that_ understood the source material better than this. To me, this reminds me less of Gumball and more of Pickle and Peanut. Also, I HATE "LOL SO RANDOM!!!!1!!!" humor. Always have, always will, it's just a desperate attempt at trying too hard to be funny, and it just seems to have become VERY common in animated shows anymore, especially those of Nickelodeon as well as Teen Titans Go.

Being ignored by the Exects because they're too afraid to take any risk. They tend to reboot once popular shows to make some revenue because "Hey if people liked it back then, then they will love it to be back, but we need to appeal to the younger generation too. I know, why not "update" the show for the younger kids, but keep everything in the show (unless it's really offensive, I think) so the older audience will have a nostalgia trip."

3:02 - 3:12 About that: In season 1 on Gumball, it was regular slapstick, obvious comedy that still makes you laugh. It looks like Plinky Malinky, with the tall eyes and mouths. But in season 2, the humour and art style changed to a completely different style; the eyeballs were taller, and the humour changed into a more sarcastic type. Also (in my opinion) has the most interesting storylines (e.g The Flower, The Remote, Halloween etc.) Season 3 paved a path for the rest of the series, with somewhat cheesy but still sarcastic jokes and great art style, sticking to traditional circle eyes. However I have a feeling i won't go that path. I just wanted to point it out as a possible route for the show.

I hate how all of the comments are little kids saying that it isn't a rip off because characters are different, the animation style is different, etc. While that may be true, thats not the reason that we're saying Pinky Malinky is a rip off. It's because Pinky Malinky will try to pull a random one-liner out of nowhere that are either butt jokes or aren't funny, or show a funny face or something like that. All of the TAWOG one-liners are actually well thought out and are funny, as well as that TAWOG has mastered the art of funny faces and deliberate cringe. Pinky Malinky tries to make the kinds of jokes that TAWOG does, and fails horribly. Pinky Malinky is a dumpster fire compared to The Amazing World of Gumball.
