That last line is a bit hypocritical, when there’s a scene earlier in the episode (a deleted scene for a good few years, but still) where he basically asks SpongeBob to come outside with him and Sandy. Why would he suddenly become serious a few hours later when he didn’t care about SpongeBob’s essay beforehand?
