The "My Neighbor is a Teenage Robot" pilot short and the final episode (Season 1 Episode 1/First Segment) are almost the same, with some differences, mainly the episode being extended to 11 minutes, the finalized designs, some new voice actors and Digital Animation.

Rocko's Modern Life and Ren & Stimpy are my all time time favorite Nicktoons and some of the best TV shows ever made in my opinion :)

The reason they decided to do Jimmy Neutron as a movie first was since the show is computer animated, they wanted the characters to have like a high-quality movie budget, so the show would look higher quality than if they did the show on a smaller budget, they reused the assets from the higher-quality movie models for the show

​@@Johnny2000sI saw a video about a week or 2 ago called "The Rise And Fall Of Jimmy Neutron: Nickelodeon's First CG Show" by a channel called "Slow Start", about 10:02 in he explains how Nickelodeon wanted to do the show first and then a movie, but Jon Davis has the idea to do the movie first so they can reuse the high quality assets from the movie as models for the show, so the show itself looks higher budget even though it's technically not, which is a very smart idea

Yeah, you can really tell when you watch the movie back to back with the show. There's suddenly way less extras and camera movement even though everything still looks the same. And basically EVERY invention Jimmy uses in the movie gets a whole episode

Nickelodeon was VERY different in 1979-1984 since Warner-Amex wanted to target very young children in the early 80s, the programming is also different, but this is 90s-2000s Nickelodeon we're talking about with the famous and iconic shows/Nicktoons.

I really miss how Nickelodeon would greenlit shows like these that had very interesting pilots to test how it can be produced to then become iconic names. However I think you left out one show which is Chalkzone🖍️, the pilot of the first episode had started to be pitched for the network after early work was shown on Oh yeah cartoons along side fairly odd parents and teenage robot. Plus I’m surprised you left out “avatar the last airbender” because that had an unaired pilot episode before it was set to be a world premiere phenomenon series.

It’s kind of strange that Trash o madness wasn’t the first episode of Rocko’s modern life considering it was the pilot episode for that show it ended up being the sister episode to the good the bad and the wallaby in season 1 episode 5 and the fact that in the pilot episode Rocko’s fur was yellow because originally Joe Murray wanted Rocko to be yellow and because he wanted to make stuffed animals of him the only stuffed animals of Rocko they did though was the ones from the Nickelodeon store that was released after the show was cancelled but Joe Murray had to change his fur to beige because of their are already stuffed animals that are yellow and also Joe Murray was originally planned to have a sucker for the suck o matic to be the pilot episode which that episode had Heffer in it and due to Heffer also being yellow a sucker for the suck o matic ended up being the seventh episode in the official show and Joe Murray ended up having Trash O madness being the show’s pilot episode but in the official show they had to change Rocko’s fur color to beige and so Joe Murray had to re due the Trash O madness episode in the official show with Rocko’s beige fur

Yep. I also heard that Joe Murray picked Trash O Madness to be the pilot episode to air instead of Sucker for the Suck o Matic is because Joe feels the audience would find Heffer too weird to introduce. I'm not sure if that info is true or not. Interestingly, there are differences between the pilot version of Trash O Madness and the final version that aired with the The Good, the Bad, and the Wallaby. Some scenes are cut or re-animated in the final version of Trash O Madness. The soundtrack and the style of music is really different in the pilot version of that episode too. Also the biggest difference of course is that Rocko is yellow in the pilot.
