The Croods is a very family-oriented animated film. Loved the fact that it sends the message of how a family should always stick together no matter what happens. This doesn’t get a lot of praise, though, which is unfortunate. Very under appreciated. This definitely tugs at your heartstrings.
@mari-k5n3 ай бұрын
Agree, the movie is really under appreciated. The message is really nice, but i thought it was more like that although the family stick together they learned with time to give some space to each other and listen to each other's wishes, cause in the beginning when they where relying on each other too much to the extend when they were alone they didn't know what to do. Of course this is goes along with the set period and I like the messages they were sending, but I guess to say that you should stick to your family no matter would be kind of not the right one. I think it shows more that even though your kids are living their own lives not getting them further from you, sticking too close to the point that all of you kind of like a whole makes it worse, at some point you should let them live and decide for themselves. You don't have to go the same road, you go different roads, but you still make them cross. Hope it makes sence😂 just my thoughts

Guy is a Homo sapien so his mind is different than the Neanderthals (cavemen) and it also explains why Guy can adapt to his environment and thoughts quicker than the Croods. I love the sequel mainly because they added Peter Dinklage and Leslie Mann to the cast, but also the colors and music are beautiful.

What I like about this movie is that is takes the over-protective dad trope and actually give him a reason to be over protective. When it’s set in the modern era, it feels a bit over exaggerated and we often see the danger as a mundane thing set up for a joke to illustrate the dad’s perception or we don’t see the danger at all. In this movie there is actual danger and they make it clear early in the movie so you don’t completely roll your eyes at the dad’s strict rules.

The Croods is such a great movie. I’m so happy that you’re reacting to it.
@mari-ey6xr2 жыл бұрын
so happy to see you enjoyed the message, about facing fear of change!! i’ve read critics of this movie say it’s just another “dad learns to let daughter go” plot line, but if that’s all you get from this movie i think you’re not really paying attention. sure, one of Grug’s big character moments comes when he accepts Guy- but it’s not just as some boyfriend he tolerates. he accepts him as family, and accepts the way he sees the world. i think he would have kept Guy around after that even if Guy and Eep weren’t involved at all. also his other two BIG character moments (sacrificing himself and having an idea) were motivated by love and his protective instinct for his entire family (not “letting eep go”, literally doing the opposite by rushing to the rescue), and also by a desire to improve himself. seeing the whole family, and finally Grug, let go of fear and embrace change is so so beautiful. certain emotional points in this movie just always make me tear up. the score is gorgeous, the characters are interesting and colorful with a fun and relatable family dynamic, the emotional payoffs are high, and overall this is just a completely underrated gem. thank you so much for reacting to this!! i love all your reactions, but especially enjoyed this one out of all your recent reactions because it was so nostalgic to see this film again!! thanks for what you do, love all your content :)
@christinejohnston89772 жыл бұрын
So I think Eep and the Croods are meant to be Neanderthals (ancestors of humans) and Guy is a Homo Sapien (modern human). Super fun concept! 🙂 It reminds me a lot of a book called Clan of the Cave Bear about a Homo Sapien girl who is adopted by Neanderthals and all the things they go through to learn about each other.
@lulystalgianature29682 жыл бұрын
Wasn't there one between the Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens? I believed Guy was between that range.
@dreamtrance98922 жыл бұрын
We're related to Neanderthals but we're not descended from them. They were our cousins. They lived side by side with homo sapiens and even crossbred with us, but the relation between homo sapiens and Neanderthals is more similar to wolves and coyotes than wolves and dogs
@CervusLavandula2 жыл бұрын
I’ve wanted to read that book for so long. My sister has it and she can lend it to me, but I haven’t had the time because of college.
@DevlinBlake14 күн бұрын
I guess we would be the coyote in that scenario, because we're smaller than neanderthals. And we're also more adaptable. And coyotes actually do well in human-made environments and wolves don't. So coyotes are more adaptable.

It was originally going to be a stop motion film made by Aardman and DreamWorks. They previously worked together on Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, but after Flushed Away underperformed at the box office, DreamWorks and Aardman decided to split ways and eventually made their own caveman movies with Aardman releasing a movie called Early Man.

A childhood favorite of mine, should you ever feel like watching it sometime, is "Cats Don't Dance" from 1997. I tend to get he opening song stuck in my head now and then. But to go along with the caveman theme of this movie, there is the recent series "Primal" by Genndy Tartakovsky. It is mostly gorgeous (and at times gory) animation with little dialogue. However, if you're looking for a more lighthearted series there is "Craig of the Creek". One of the most recent episodes titled "Grandma Smugglers" was very cute and sweet.
