Thanks for reacting to this side of Dan that still surprises many people. It's a common misconception that Dan sings only metal and hard rock, but in fact he has the classical training to sing this sort of thing absolutely straight. If a song isn't already a metal cover, or if he doesn't explicitly label it "metal version" or something like that, then you shouldn't anticipate that he'll metalize it. He sings every song the way it should be sung, whether it's a Journey cover, or a song from the Disney cartoon Tarzan, or a folksong, or a beautiful ballad like The Last Goodbye. I love his "metalized" versions of ordinary songs because they display his creativity and musical wizardry, but he's more than capable of singing any song, in any genre, and in any style. I'll second all the requests for Gethsemane - you will be astonished. looking forward to your next encounter with the phenomenal Dan!

Hi, Nick! Dan doesnt metalize everything! Lol! He is certainly a metalhead and is best known for his metal covers, but, he has many gorgeous non metal covers, too, like this fabulous Phantom song. His show tunes are all superbly done, see also Phantom of the Opera, All I Ask of You from Phantom. There are two covers from The Greatest Showman, which Dan slays, Never Enough, and, A Million Dreams. There is also an amazing performance of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar that is a must see. Dans more operatic covers are, Nessum Dorma, and, Time To Say Goodbye. Dan's love of opera came from listening to it with his father, as he states in his outros. 😊 Dan also has a large selection of non metal power ballads which are some of my favorites, Dawn of a New World, Tears of the Dragon, and of course, all his 80s rock covers ... take your pick, they are all great! Dan loves even medieval style folk music such as Scarboro Faire, Lock Lomond, Priscilla's Song (non metal version), The Last Goodbye, I See Fire. So you see, there is enough to keep you going with Dan reactions for some time, and you dont have to get bored ... ever! 😅 Thanks for your reaction! More please! 😊❤😊

I love this softer side of Dan a lot. I love his metal and rock, but this takes such control. He does this one straight. He has other types of “softer” music on his channel, including Yhe Phantom of the Opera and Priscilla’s song (from The Witcher. Priscilla’s Song has a ballad version and a metal/rock version. Great reaction. I've seen so many reactions to this one I didn't realize you hadn't yet reacted to it. I've never heard or read that Dan had any thespian training (though he IS a wonderful actor/performer). But he did have years of extensive, classical vocal training.

Oh Nick, you absolutely MUST react to another Broadway worthy cover from Dan. "Gethsemane" from Jesus Christ Superstar. I postponed it because I could not endorse the non Biblical assumptions that musical promoted. After deciding to watch it as a misinterpretation written by one who didn't understand that Jesus was not just an ordinary man. He is the God Man who understood his purpose. Dan is remarkable here.

Thank you for reacting to this lovely song by Dan. I know Dan calls himself a metal singer, but I have come to the conclusion that he is more of a musical artist. He uses his voice as a brush on the canvas of his songs. Sometimes it’s a very light touch that keeps it original (as he did here)or very close to the original piece, other times. it’s a much bigger and bolder brush that changes and colors the song to ultimately make it better, and sometimes he does a complete redesign of the song, but even then, the original remains part of it as he is truly quite deft in his ability to reimagine music. I truly consider the day I first discovered his music a blessing.

A miracle was born. Dan Vasc's success reflects his hard work, dedication and passion for his craft. This boy is a true combination of talent, hard work and determination!!!! She literally becomes the song she sings and draws you into her world. Then all of a sudden he kicked in KZbin's door and everyone is talking about him!!! Your star is rising higher and higher! You are a fantastic guy! I have never been impressed by a singer like this! It's a real heart booster to listen to him! I appreciate your response to Dan singing and performing this song. He has classical training. He has another opera song video named Nessa Dorma. It is spectacular too. You will recognize it, when you hear it, because in the US it goes by a different name. Dan can sing in a number of different styles.

Oh my, you have to check out Dan Vasc’s many genres! I found him with his release of Amazing Grace, went to I’ll Make a Man Out of You , then the Witcher songs ! So many genres … I‘ve become addicted to every high, low, grit , growl and glorious metal screams! I’ve never been a fan of metal, but I love Dan’s metal!

This is my favorite out of Dan's POTO songs, but he also does the theme song "Phantom of the Opera" with Dragica as well as "All I Ask of You" with Alina Leznik (Raul & Christine's duet). Dan is a big fan of Phantom of the Opera, whether it's the stage version or the movie, but he prefers the movie for the creative options that it offers which are not capable with a stage presentation.

❤❤❤ after watching him for 8 years... he still gives me cold chills with this and others that he has covered. No training in the theatrical field... which I'm sure plenty of people before me have told you... Dan is a natural ... this man is unbelievable ... he knows exactly how to perform a song and have it reach out and grab you, and pull you into the music... he puts so much emotion into each performance...his voice, his face, his body language, his hands, he uses all to bring the music to life. He brings me to tears with some of his songs and I'm not the only one. Some make me want to sing along... some touch my heart and bring tears. Others make me want to join in fighting what ever the foe is. Some make me want to dance. Dan is a very many faceted man... I love his music... everything he's ever done. And I am not alone, the number of fans of this man grows with every passing day. Thank you for your reaction. Dan is something else and it's all good❤

Dan has made covers of other songs from the Phantom of the Opera musical - all duets with women. The titelsong - together with Dragica. And two versions of the ultimate lovesong 'All i ask of you' - one together with Alina Lesnik, and one with Minniva. They're all pretty awesome.

I love this performance but I’m even more impressed with his performance of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar and Nessun Dorma from Puccini’s Turandot. Both are basically traditional with no metal element. He’s classically trained and you can definitely hear it and see it. Hail VascNation ❤

Dan is a trained vocalist and he can crush virtually anything that he sets his mind (and heart) to. He does all of his own background vocals and all of the arrangements. If you want to see more of Dan's "serious" side, try his version of Gethsemane from the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. It left me in tears the first time I heard it and I still get goosebumps every time I listento/watch it. He does an incredible job with "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" from Disney's Mulan. He has a series of songs from the video games and TV series The Witcher, duets with other singers like "Kiss From A Rose" (Seal) with Violet Orlandi, Time To Say Goodbye (Con te Partiro) with Rehn Stillnight, Nessun Dorma, Elvis Presley's "American Trilogy" which is extremely emotional because Dan dedicated it to his father who had passed away just 5 days before he recorded it. He also has incredible covers of "The Last Goodbye" from The Hobbit (also shortly after his dad passed) and Nightwish's "Sleeping Sun" that really shows Dan's unbelievable range. I could go on and on choosing one after another of Dan's covers that I recommend, but it'd take me hours. lol Enjoy the musical rabbit hole that is Dan Vasc and welcome to #VascNation !!!!

Dude, you need to watch the show before featuring the song, you will understand more. However, having seen it professionally 7 times, including some of the most famous actors playing Phantom, performing some of the music, and memorizing the score, there really isn't anything I don't know about it. And I'mm gong to tell you that Dan sings this song better than any of them. I was nearly dismayed to realized that when I first heard it a while ago, because I had my favorite for years. But it is what it is, and Dan slays it. I would give everything I have to see him do the whole show, that's how good he is. That is not an exaggeration. He can sing anything, in any style, in any genre, from any period. Those kinds of performers are BORN, not trained. Since I no longer have the opportunity to see Pavarotti live as part of my bucket list, Dan Vasc is now on it. Listen more, but be more aware of the story behind what he's singing.

Great reaction.i am glad you could appreciate this song. Dan’s voice here is so flowing and gentle in parts of this. It is so different than his others. It is a master piece of singing and performing.
