Got a posse of ladies, Im guessing who are or have been in that same fear mode-especially those who have had some scary moments, yet, just as many brave up and go anyway, prepared for situations unplanned. I have a question about the area from the drone, that showed, Hotel Caromella" I think. I see what looks like old or maybe ancient windows or doorways way down below the sign above, and maybe steps....I was wondering are these indeed parts of old cities or just caves etc?

Hello my dear, Carlo here, the Grand Hotel Cocumella is one of the most famous hotels in Sorrento, and it is probably also the oldest one, it has been operating since 1777, but the palace was completed in 1637, and until 1777 it was a convent of the Frati Gesuiti (Jesuit Fathers). One of the oldest visible areas of Sorrento is the area called; delle Antiche Mura, where you can see the remains of mighty walls that were used to defend the town, there are finds that suggest that Sorrento was already inhabited in the Neolithic period, which would be from 8000 BC to 3500 BC!💕😘

My poor 24 y.o grand daughter...for some reason (LA suburb traffic, probably) will not get her licence. We paid for 2 driving courses. She passed the written with flying colors but didn't pass the drivers test. The tester had to pull the wheel to the side to avoid a collision as she was entering the freeway...she didn't check her "blind" side. It was an automatic fail. Poor girl. When I learned, the streets were practically empty near our home. My Mom was a good driver/teacher. Taught me how to drive the freeways to and from downtown LA ((had a pediatric nursing class at county usc). The hospital was another matter. They actually had colored lines on the floor to follow to where you're going.

What a pleasure it is to be watching you, Carlo & more lovely & amazing settings & excursions, in Italy, England & elsewhere. Thanks Carlo for the bike ride & beach scenery, & the delightful aerial sweeping drone footage of life & the clusters of dwellings on the mountainside along the coastline, panning the scenery. Congrats to Skye, as well! I love when you've just spent time in your beautiful home & we get to walk through your lush gardens too. In this one, I see that Indy has become a bit older since I last saw her. She was at the beach I think. She & Holly went into the restaurant with you & Carlo & were both so well behaved. In this one, when you found the spot recommended to you, & walked down to the secluded waterway beyond the bridge, she was staying close by, walking at your pace, checking out the place like a tourist. I can see the civilizing effect you've all had on her. This trip will further shape her. Watching this seems even more wonderful for me because I just found my phone a couple days ago, after losing sight of it for over a week. Ugh. It got misplaced while reorganizing & sorting out my home during a prolonged heatwave. We hit 100°, I think, & it was very humid in this part of Massachusetts. I don't have AC, but I had to keep busy trying to find my phone, which I finally did. It was hard to escape reality in a TV show or KZbin without being able to watch shows on my phone. It's even made worse since my computer crapped out recently. So I'm loving that I can watch this episode tonight on my phone again. I'll go back now, & pick up where I left off. 'Just wanted to tell you how beautiful your walkway looks with flowering vines overhead & along one side. Also, you look great! I love how the kitchen is now too.

The good thing of traveling alone is: your senses are all open to absorb your surrounding at the fullest. This will bring vivid memories to your mind that no other life experiece will bring you. You can go to that place whenever you are feeling stressed out. That was my coping strategy during covid times. I am doing it for ten years now and I made some awsome roadtrips in the US and Europe and I am in my seventies now. So Nicky you are doing yourself a big favour and will benefit from it for a lifetime. But the fears will always stay……and go away….and come back…>love from Amsterdam

When I travel from our winter home near Mexico to our summer home near Canada, I drive by myself with three dogs, 2 labs and a yorkie. I don't stop much along the way but drive 10-12 hours for two days in a row. I planted two varieties of the flat types so as to have successive ripening. I believe they are the sweetest, juiciest peaches I've ever eaten. Yes, hiking on steps in the heat is awful. I travel early and blast the AC during trips. It's nice to see Skye all grown up. Like you, I gave up fear. It's rather a useless emotion. Thank you for chronicling your adventures.

Hello dear, Carlo here, thank you very much for the appreciations, I guarantee you that Harry is very proud of Nicki, not that he had ever explicitly said it, but as a son I fully understand it, even my father has never made me a real great appreciation , but I know for a fact that sometimes he is proud of me, however it is not the first time that Nicki goes on long journeys alone, but it was a long time ago, and after a long time not doing something demanding it becomes normal to be afraid of it, I myself am experiencing this, for example last year when I went kayaking to Isola Dei Galli, I was afraid of it, but ten years earlier, that was the minimum distance I faced when I was kayaking regularly, reaching distances 4 times major!💕😘

I'm speechless and at 74 years so that's saying something. I live in & have driven across Australia quite a few times. East to West is around 4000 kilometers it's beautiful & remote across the Nullabor Plains. The journey you are sharing is breathtaking & after the last 2years of restrictions, lockdowns & isolation in this country I had lost all desire to travel. This may be the fear I must now face as I have never been to Europe but have dual nationality so have kept my passport up to date. Italy & Spain were always on my bucket list. Thank you for reminding me that after these last year's & losses, every day is a gift. You put a smile on my face Nicki re the night time toilet issue :) ... I'm a big tough farming woman and when my husband is away I turn on the night light in our hallway when I go to bed to keep away the goblins and thats despite having the dog and cat both sleeping on the bed with me!
