DRIVING BACK TO POSITANO & WHY I DIDN'T TAKE HOLLY EP 198

I went for a walk with Dan long the River Wey from Ripley Green to Pyrford Lock. We stopped for coffee and cake at Nest cafe and shop in Ripley.
Leni and Rosi are the daughters of my friend Elisabeth in Positano. They love to make little videos for you. The grape harvest was at Carlo's cousins house.
The first day of my journey I drive from Surrey to Dole in France via the Eurotunnel.
The second day I drove from Dole to Courmayer, crossing the Alps via the Mont Blanc tunnel.
I then drove from Courmayer to Ovado near Genova and stayed at the Castello di Grillano Guesthouse: castellodigrillano.it/en/home

Hi Carlo here, thank you very much, I just wanted to add that we certainly do what we want, and if we want to give you more input or information just why we want to do it, and not necessarily call them "explanations" and in any case everyone sees and "hears" and interprets in the way he wants, and as long as he remains respectful and in good manners, everyone can say what they want, obviously all of us (or almost) like positive comments and attitudes and we want to have fun and smile, and not make useless discussions! 💕😘🥰❤️😍

They are a lovely family, I was particularly touched by last week’s video when Nicki spoke about her mother. I also second the comments concerning the apparent need for a "Holly explanation.” It must be a double edged sword for Nicki and Carlo that , on the one hand, the world so loves Holly (who is the sweetest little dog I have ever seen) and yet the same people feel they have the right to question Holly’s care with the very family that so obviously love her.

Holly is so sweet. She reminds me of a sweet little American Eskimo mix dog I had. Holly seems to have the same friendly and adventurous spirit as my girl. She's been gone now for more than eight years but I still miss her. Gotta admit I tear up a little sometimes when I see Holly in your videos.

It’s so hard to say goodbye. I miss my family so much as I haven’t seen them in 5 months, the hardest part of living in another country. I loved seeing the harvesting of the grapes and the community you have in Positano. I must say you can see how loved your fur babies are! Some of the blessed pups & cats even not my puppy and not my cat.

Nicki, I’ve been watching you since the very beginning and I absolutely adore your family. Because of that, I HAVE to tell you-PLEASE don’t ever walk around alone in a place such as the foggy industrial park. I’m assuming it was just off the motorway where someone could easily abduct you, hop back on and you’d disappear without a trace. If you must stop for Indy to have a wee break, open your door, let her do what she needs, and immediately get back on the road. I won’t pretend I know everything, but I’m an avid traveler, and have visited numerous countries on my own throughout the years. I never worry because I’m always on the alert to just exactly where I am, and what the potential odds are for danger. One of the first rules of safety is to never put yourself in a vulnerable position for someone to harm you. I have never felt unsafe anywhere in Europe, but there are always going to be dangerous people in the world, and we have to keep ourselves from falling prey to them. I realize this trip was a huge new and exciting experience for you, and I’m honestly not trying to offend. It would break my heart if something happened to you; even more so if I didn’t share this advice I was given. On a happier note, thank you for another glimpse into the adventures of you, Carlo, Holly, and Indy. You bring so much joy to us all, and we appreciate all the work involved in sharing the beauty of your life.🧡🍃🌻🌾🍂

How beautiful the English countryside is! It was so great to see you walking with your brother along the river; I had no idea it was like that in parts of England. The dog park was fantastic for travelers! How thoughtful that they included a place for female dogs in season! 🐕 I am SO glad you are over the anxiety you felt about taking this trip. I am the same way--getting ready to go away makes me anxious, but once you go, you realize it's ok. The food you picked up at market looked yummy! My family was big, we used to go to a friends house that had an Apple Orchard, we picked all day! Elisabeth's laugh is great. Leni is doing great presenting things. Fun to watch. That was an enjoyable video. The canal walk with your brother and the trip back to Italy were really interesting, but it was the walk with Holly that captivated me, Carlo’s camera and drone photography is superb. I also always feel anxious when it’s time to leave. The anticipation of going away or coming home is nice but the closer it gets to doing it, the more nervous I get. Once I get started, I’m great. I know this about myself now, so it gets easier as I get older. ☺️
