@@Cluefan but from what i can tell, that involved someone he knew and trusted, right? that seems like a more complicated situation than just researching a topic or not. but no, what i mean is, do you have examples of what you're saying. you said his videos always have a lack of research. i don't know too much about nickisnotgreen, but i know that he has a main channel for real videos that are produced and researched, and a drama quick-react channel where he makes quick reaction videos out of live streams on whatever information's available on day 1 of a new drama, and he does music stuff with his girl (i know Dev's content better, that's how i know nick's channels, i'm a musician), and i think he has like, a light drama opinion stuff channel where they react together to just funny stupid stuff that doesn't really matter. there might be another one idk lol
@Cluefan

@micahfoley9572 Well, even if it was someone he knew or not, he still has to have the journalistic integrity to present the information in an accurate light. Because it is a supposedly delicate situation. Nick decided not to do that and really just made a Supermega smear video. He didn't really levy any specific accusations to supermega, but more or less just bashed them. For what reason I don't know, and for his other content, I can't say because I'm not interested in partaking in a sludge through endless petty tik tok drama. The way he handled the Supermega situation was super shady and weird, so he's not the kind of guy I would invest any amount of time or respect towards, and by proxy trust anything he has to say at all. Do with that what you will

There seems to be a problem with some people villainizing cringe. They put behaviors they deem cringe or annoying as worse than actual problematic or even abusive behavior.
@Iserpesnod
@Iserpesnod 10 ай бұрын
Great point, wholeheartedly agree! It's kinda crazy because "cringe" is, at the end of the day, subjective - as long as enough people see what you're doing there's bound to be someone who'll think you're cringe, there's quite literally nothing that can change that, no matter who you are and what you do, so focusing solely on "look, so cringy!" ignoring objective statements is...not exactly the brightest, to say the least

i've definitely noticed this as well!! people will say that cringe culture is dead but then use cringe as a moral judgement. i've liked Nick's videos for background noise but there have been cases where i've realized hey, some of the weird things i do or am would get me in a video like this if someone like him saw them and used as a way to make me a bad person, do i want to contribute to this happening to others?

I'm subbed to Nick because I would use him as background noise while I do other things. But as I payed attention to what he was saying, the more I started to disagree with him. I also don't like Hasan, so Nick being friends with him is...mmmm. Those Sorbet girls deserved better though, they really didn't seem to be hurting anyone. Nice video mate👍
@Iserpesnod
@Iserpesnod 10 ай бұрын
Trust me, if the video's primary focus was Hasan instead of Nick the narrative would be much more...different, let's just say different to avoid needless details - "not a great dude" is all I'm gonna say for now, and so many popular creators are friends of his despite everything he's representing with his online presence - it's absolutely baffling to me. Sorbet girls not only got done extremely dirty by the online douchebags, but even by people who like to think of themselves as allies to those kinds of cyberbullying victims who this time just sent even more hate towards them instead, that had to SUCK to say the least. Glad you enjoyed the video mate! Have a great day!

I used to watch his videos. But eventually, he just seemed overly mean-spirited. Like yeah, some assholes should be treated like that. But, he was doing it to so many people who just... didn't deserve that. The first time I noticed it was when he made a video about 'Dream Stans' (this was back when it was still semi-okay to be a fan of dream). It rubbed me the wrong way because he was making so many uninformed statements as if they were absolute fact, and was just being kinda mean to random teenagers on twitter. But I ignored it cause that was just what everyone said when it came to dream stans/dsmp. (I want to make it very clear, I am no longer a fan/stan of dream, and haven't been in a long time) But I just kept noticing it, the straw that broke the camel's back for me was the 'shifting' videos, he was being so mean to these random tiktokers for almost no reason :/. There was of course very valid criticism to be made of those videos, but he wasn't making them. I unsubbed after that. and whenever I've seen him around again it always seems like he hasn't changed. idk I know a lot of commentators also do the same thing. But with him, it kinda goes too far.

I feel like when most channels do it maybe it's simply...funny? And not fully "I fing hate you" energy, that was always the vibe I got from him at least. You can criticize something in a "funny way" but when you just insult people and there's straight up toxicity coming out of you it becomes depressing to watch rather than "hey, let's laugh at them". He could make the "hate" vibe work...if he'd made proper videos on absolutely horrible people with CERTAIN PROOF he'd be that "I want to vent out on horrible people with someone" kind of "journalist"(like Chris Hansen for example, just without interrogations ofc), but instead he's just full of hate towards people that simply don't deserve it - it's not fun to watch for me, it's more sad than anything

I hope he can bounce back someday.

Omg I was hoping that this video wasnt satire cause like I kind of share this opinion. I havent watched this video yet, but like as someone who watches and enjoys REACTION channels lmao. I feel like his content is so....like un-effort (brain fart im forgetting the word) But I mainly watched and got into his second channel, and thats kind of where my opinion formed. Like it got too much of how many times he'd make assumptions or go "so I don't know if blah blah blah blah" and it's like. Research. One google search away to answer something that is a CRUCIAL point in whatever hes covering. Like especially that one video about the "worst breakup in youtube" or whatever its called, really left a bad taste in my mouth. (if you go to the comments you'll know what I mean)

It's such a dip in quality when you look at his friend's channels who do similliar content as him just...SO MUCH better, and I don't just mean that I like him the least - lack of research, forming opinions "just to say something" and never admitting to fault is such a "yikes" moment it's difficult to continue watching him for me, I'd just not believe anything he says at this point...

F in the chat for my laptop, I was barely able to export the original 17 minutes of this video into mp4 because it was too laggy - had to wait 30 minutes for everything to load up to have a try at it xD Ngl the video would be longer if I could make it longer - I found more things on Nick that could further solidify the points I made, but I think I've managed to say and show more than enough already. I realize this vid is kinda in the middle when it comes to a narrative - I'm not roasting this guy as much as I roasted Adam22 for example, but it's because I think(and I might be wrong) dude might have good intentions and isn't inherently a bad person but yeah, as far as his work go it's pretty damaging to this platform as a whole and his "I'm never wrong" complex doesn't help with that. I'm not outright hating on him but at the same time I'm not his fan = so bascially both sides would have some beef with me as I appeal to none of them fully, which is tough, sure, but I'd rather give you more of a full perspective rather than just creating a one sided hit piece

I'm super glad I provoked some really insightful thoughts with my video, it's very healthy to self reflect like that - the fact that you were able to identify a potential "problem" within yourself through observation speaks volumes about your character! Big kudos to you and thank you for sharing, delighted to have you here! Also, I fully agree that listening to such heavily opinionated takes without much proof in them can very well convince us to a side we'd normally never take and we could eventually end up forming opinions that are sourced from thin air without ever realizing it - even if it's just background noise(sometimes maybe even especially if it's background noise, because we're even less likely to object anything in that state), so it's definetly something to keep in mind

I haven't, but the title is an obvious exaggeration made just to higlight the points I'm making in the video - those being: that channels like the one I'm talking about there are really dangerous to people on the platform - both viewers and creators alike(viewers because of bs and lack of research, and creators because of defamation, sending harrassment towards them etc.). If it wasn't exaggerated then such title could never exist in the first place, as it's moreso a subjective statement rather than something you can factually prove("x is worse than y" kind of deal)

@@Iserpesnod so, it's clickbait, and not true. dude. you don't gotta lie to kick it. just call it "nick was WRONG about supermega" or "nick was wrong AGAIN" or something. don't just say things that you know are lies, especially if you're calling out someone else for lying. this is your channel man. say what you mean and mean the shit you say. plus, if you gotta lie to get your point across, that means your point is wrong. lying never helps your cause long term.
@Iserpesnod
@Iserpesnod 10 ай бұрын
@@micahfoley9572 Respectfully, I disagree - I already told to the other person that statements such as "THE WORST" are subjective, there's no right answer to such things. This is my channel, true that and I own everything I do and say on here, don't really understand why you'd think otherwise. I have no issues with you stating your opinion and thinking it's wrong for me to make such a title, if you think "I don't mean shit I say" because I'm discussing my reasoning with the rest of the community then I guess you're right, otherwise I have no clue what you mean by that. All of the title ideas you yourself thought of are - in my opinion - too specific and don't talk about the entire video- they just talk about one point I've made, which talks about nick's channels and mistakes in them in general. The video is NOT only about Supermega situation, why would I ever make up such a title? It's been well over two months since that drama surfaced at the time I put this video up, heck, it's been over a month ever since I started working on it as well, so why would you think it's about this specific topic? To compare my title to Nick lying about SA to destroy someones career is crazy, you probably didn't mean it that way but it looks kinda insane, so I'm not gonna argue against that cause I probably just read it the wrong way and you didn't mean it like that, at least I'm gonna assume so untill you say otherwise. The final point of yours - I understand it, but it seems we have different opinions on what we perceive as a lie - exaggaration is not the same as a blatant lie, far from it in my honest opinion - I used it many times as a writer and didn't feel like I'm lying to people - mainly because I assume they'd understand not every statement needs to be taken 1:1, ESPECIALLY on a headline which is meant to draw more people in, the rest of the content is there to specify and add context about what you mean by the title more(I already explained this part in the previous comment from this thread), but if you disagree with that then it's just a difference in perspective and I once again want to highlight that I do understand it, with that being said I personally disagree with it and would never change the title to anything close to what you were suggesting. Have a great day though, thanks for sharing, appreciate you taking a time off your day and don't take anything the wrong way, I'mma keep this viewpoint in mind!
@micahfoley9572
@micahfoley9572 10 ай бұрын
@@Iserpesnod i appreciate your cordiality. it is noticed. but i gotta correct one thing. "the worst" is only subjective if you don't define a scale, but in this case you did. You're using commentary channels. you can judge worst objectively among commentary channels, provided you've got a generally agreed upon definition of "good" and "bad" and "commentary channels". any subjective judgement can become an objective classification if everything is properly defined and a standard is set. ie: races are decided by seeing who is the "worst" at driving fast around a racetrack. the "standard" is speed around the track, "good" is fast, "bad" is slow, and "the worst" is the slowest of all. the subjective part is not what's best and worst, that's all objective now. the subjective part is the agreement among the involved parties that going fast is the goal. it's a lot like how "moral" and "immoral" stop being subjective once a standard is agreed upon. ie: if humans flourishing is your standard, you can then objectively state that actions that harm humans intentionally are immoral. on the other hand, if human suffering is the standard, you can objectively state that actions that harm humans are moral. as long as there's a framework, morality can be graded objectively. the only subjective part is the nature of the framework itself. Of course, if you're saying that our definitions of "good" and "bad" are drastically different, and you actually believe he's the worst commentary channel on youtube, that's a completely different matter. i would have no argument in that case. but i have to admit, i doubt that's actually the case. just because you'd have to dismiss some genuinely awful shit in order to put him anywhere near the top of that list. that one guy who murdered his girlfriend on stream for example. Or matt powell, who's the worst person i can think of off the top of my head. Now one of them you could totally get away with calling the worst. you get what mean? but it's your channel, do what you want, naturally. my point is just that hyperbole only truly has power when it's not too abstract or unreasonable. ie: you wouldn't call a 80 degree day "the hottest day ever" because saying that would make you feel about that statement that way that i feel about clickbait titles. the way everyone feels about clickbait titles, i think. i assukme you hate clickbait, too? to be clear, i don't think you're intentionally click baiting anyone, but a lie is a dishonest statement that one knows is false and makes anyway. intent doesn't make something a lie. foreknowledge does. and truly, it doesn't matter to me what you call it, i'm just saying that if you're trying to present yourself as someone honest and reasonable, someone who's takes are measured against the truth, someone who's deliberate with words and cautious with accusations, maybe just make the stuff you say things you actually believe. it can still be dramatic and eye-catching and not be false, right? that's all i'm getting at. you don't need the extra stretch.
