He didnt want an autograph from Gary Coleman . She was antagonizing him and calling a failed child star . The autograph was an act of mockery . Gary gets a bad rap . Gary worked hard as a security guard and would make lighthearted humor of his situation . Gary didnt deserve the ridicule he often got. This needs to be said !

He should have been very rich with a lot of his money invested. He would have been set to relax and do what he wanted, then getting a crappy job. Who would even be scared of him as a security guard? All kids need to be protected by everyone, that includes their parents. Even adults can get screwed out of their money from their money managers, etc. The only person you can really trust with your money is YOU. You should always be keeping track of where your money is going, rich or poor.If you’re poor, seeing where what little money you have is going and cutting out crap you really don’t NEED, can save money for things your really need to survive.

In 1978 Different Strokes debuted on NBC. By the 79/80 season every new Fall show on NBC had been cancelled by January so the networks success was depending almost entirely on Different Strokes plus a few other shows to carry it while new shows such as Hill Street Blues and Cheers were being developed. Situations like these have made me concerned for child actors ever since. I hope, for example, that the child actors from Modern Family and The Middle are doing okay. A lot of the issues for child entertainers occur after fame ends. Many can't adjust to a return to normal life as an adult. Others keep trying to be taken seriously as adult actors but find it impossible to breakthrough their former cutesy stereotype. The one's you mentioned continued to be famous and work in entertainment even in adulthood. Fame is an emotional drug so its understandable that once lost, many former child entertainers turn to drugs and alcohol to maintain that high.

I love sitcoms from the 80s so so much..far more than today's shows. Tragic that so many of the actors real life stories are so tragic...even when it comes to how they were treated on the shows I love so much, smh.

Some however if you ever had worked in the industry, you would know the long (12 hour average daily), physical demands on the body can contribute to drug and alcohol abuse. In addition, being wellloved and then finding yourself on unemployment after your show is cancelled can also contribute.

@@IMeMineWho Granted, I have never worked in the industry, but spent 24 years in the US Army Infantry, and a 12 hour day deployed is a short one. 16 hours was the norm, 7 days a week, for often 15 months at a time (like I did in Iraq in 2003-2004. And any stress that being unemployed is nothing compared to getting shot at daily. And yet, there was no drug abuse and drinking was not abused. We were in a muslim country so alcohol was hard enough to come by as it was.

I've always thought Nicole Eggert was lying just for financial gain. If her encounter with Scott Baio was so traumatizing... then why did she wait 20+ years to go public about it? It was consensual. She obviously decided to do it.

She was PAID for many of her interviews on the subject. Scott passed lie detector tests and there is evidence from other cast members that contradict her testimony.

It's BECAUSE it was so traumatizing that it took 20 years! Some victims never tell a soul, and many are accused of lying. What you wrote is a big part of why many victims are afraid to tell anyone, even family or the police. And how is she making money off her rape?! You don't get paid to talk about it!

@@millypoo7713 hiring a lawyer and telling the truth doesn’t mean people are believed. Women are often blamed for being raped. Their sexual history scrutinized, what they were wearing, etc. when a man is famous or powerful it’s even more difficult for the woman to be believed or people to care. Remember when Anita Hill came forward about Clarence Thomas and people cared so much he was appointed to the SCOTUS? Same with Brett kavanaugh. R Kelly was raping young girls for decades. they had him on video using a young girl as a toilet and he wasn’t convicted. He had police in his pocket who always looked the other way. Finally, enough women came forward recently and he was convicted. He even married Aaliyah when she was 14, 15 or 16 and nothing happened to him. Bill Cosby laughed about his activities and in performances. Kobe Bryant sort of apologized for raping that woman who was dragged through the mud after accusing him of rape. The public made fun of her and asked who would want her. Rape is about control and power. Bosses who abuse their power. Give me sex and you can keep your job, be offered a promotion, or whatever. Trump was accused of walking in dressing rooms at pageants, forceable kissing and he was elected President. Does that sound like women care or are believed? Just because you may have proof, it may not be enough. Because you have no proof, that doesn’t make it untrue either. Scott Baio and Willie Aimes were both worried about sexual assault charges due to their sexual activities during filming Charles In Charge because they slept with a number of the girls/women who guest starred. Willie said that in an interview after an accusation had been brought to light - not on their set but I don’t recall the details. Btw, I minor can’t consent. Nor can you groom young people.

Funny how so many celebrities don’t get into rehab until they get arrested. I suspect if they hadn’t been caught, the would never have gone into rehab. They don’t regret using drugs, they regret getting caught, and are trying to mitigate damages when it comes to sentencing.
