Many party promoters turn a blind eye to girls being underage because they want to appeal to the rich men attending said parties that like younger girls. Often girls are under 21 and they will accept that fake ID and pretend they didn't know. Sometimes they are even younger. It's deplorable but that's how it is

I think he's doing worse than people let on. Of course he has trouble walking and getting around he's 92! I hear he rarely if ever makes appearances at the mansion parties anymore and when he does he looks very frail and that's something I've heard from the girls who still go- the media doesn't talk about it

@@glitzkey903 yes but it was the beginning of her career, she desperately needed money thats why she only did it for $50.00, if she was big I doubt she wouldn't have had $50.00, she wasn't that famous then, the reason she became famous was people then saw how beautiful she was n then came the acting, wasn't right the way he did it but it basically DID start both their careers, hence why I'm suspecting is why he wanted to be buried next to her.

Here's the thing. Hef has been around forever and has been a gross old man since I can remember (and I'm in my 40's!). Any girl that lives in the mansion and/or agrees to be his girlfriend is clearly doing it for the money, status and perks...... not out of any mutual attraction. Therefore, I find it exceedingly difficult to sympathize with any of his former girlfriends/ex-bunnies. Just sayin'.

I have to say though, the old joke about "buying Playboy to read the articles" actually has some truth to it . The magazine had really interesting , well written articles, and Playboy interviews with people were second to none. Heck , they had to come out with a book for the Playboy interviews with John Lennon and Yoko Ono because there were so many hours of interview questions (it took days) that they could never fit it all into a few issues of the magazine.

Re: Monroe: Hefner paid $600 for those shots, not $500; he was willing to pay a grand (all he had left in his meager $6000 budget). Monroe knew the pictures were going to be used for calendars. Did she think she would never be recognized, even if she hadn't have become a star? She couldn't find a part-time job? Yes, Hefner should have at LEAST told her he was going to publish the centerfold, but she did sign away all rights to those pictures, for a measly $50. She had no one to blame but herself. And it probably helped her career (or at least her fame) rather than hurt it. On the other hand, she put Playboy on the map & should have been well compensated. So, yeah, it was a pretty rotten thing for Hefner to do. But Marilyn should have thought a little more about the possible consequences of her photo shoot.

Hey, what makes me kind of mad about this is Bill Cosby. He was talking about Redd Foxx and other comedians being vulgar. Redd Foxx never did any of the stuff Bill is accused of and if Redd did it's been 26 years since he's gone to Heaven and NO ONE!!! has ever mentioned it. Redd had dirty albums and dirty language but when it came to dealing with people, especially, ladies, he was classy.

I was accepted as a Bunny in St. Louis after I got out of college. When I got inside and read the contract and saw what was going on...I walked away VERY FAST. THE CONTRACT said that ANY PICTURES TAKEN ANYWHERE ON ANY PLAYBOY PROPERTY became the property of PLAYBOY...well, having come from a LAWYER FAMILY I immediately said NO WAY, ever was I going to SIGN A CONTRACT that said THEY COULD TAKE ANY PICTURE OF ME ANYWHERE (that would include the SHOWER). Remember, this job you dressed for in the Dressing room of the CLUB. A gentleman friend TOOK me for the FIRST TIME to the Playboy Club in St. Louis (HE thought all this was VERY HUMOROUS. Again...NO WAY, would I be a waitress dressed LIKE THAT. Had I been a little less informed and being raised by a JUDGE, I might have gotten actually sucked into that BOOK OF RULES...that SOUNDED VERY STEWARDESS like or a model...NOT!!! It was definitely a A GATEWAY DRUG of so many girls that ended up being Prostitutes. THE RULE BOOK said Bunnies are not to have any association or date CLUB MEMBERS. SOUNDS good, but the truth is, that with enough money and coercion, anything can be bought...especially at the VERY JAMES BOND COOL PLAYBOY CLUB!!! As I said...WALKED AWAY VERY FAST!!!! GATEWAY DECADENCE!!! I knew one girl that much later as an unmarried, single mom who sent herself (with a tiny baby) through HIGH SCHOOL and then COLLEGE!!!! She learned the HARD WAY about the PLAYBOY CLUB and their rule book with the CLUB ATTITUDE..."RULES WERE MADE TO BE BROKEN!!!" The magazine wasn't all they made LOOK SLICK!!!

One overlooked detail: why have so many of his former playmates turned up dead? You can only use the tortured drug addicted card for so long before you smell a rat. We may never know the truth as he's dead and took his secrets to the grave. Whatever the case, he made an empire out of the exploitation of women regardless of whether they consented or not. I mean, I can consent to work in fast food, but does that mean I deserve to be degraded for working in that industry? No!

The standard MO was to invite A LOT of women to the parties as a sort of networking in Hollywood move. The girls came as hopefuls, young and naive. Not so naive that they didn't know "untoward" things happen.... but when you're inexperienced and starving in Hollywood, a prestigious invite to the mansion (esp when you don't really think you'll be singled out by Hef himself) easily turns into a 'why not, it could be exciting/fun?" Holly talked about how she was encouraged to join Hef one night as a sort of initiation into the mansion one night, and didn't want to do it, but went ahead anyway when she was told the mansion could help her make business contacts, and after being told that she didn't "really" have to do anything. She regrets that night. It was only one night, dark, a bunch of people in the room, and well let's say for their 1minute consumation he didn't exactly 'perform.' She never slept with him again, just relegated to a broken down area of the mansion with the other girls. She said she actually did try and convince herself, with some success, that she and Hef could find some sort of love. Of course she regrets it. He preyed on young girls/women who were in Hollywood away from family and who didn't know that they could make rent each month... couple that with assurances that you didn't have to do anything sexual, and that being in the mansion could segue into the acting/model/whatever roles they were searching for outside of the mansion, and a young girl could indeed get sucked in. The $1000/wk is nothing. Its barely above the new minimum wage, every aspect of their lives controlled, and actually being actively stifled in the careers they were pursuing....all in exchange for feeling like they lost a piece of their soul. Sure thing, bub, Hef was the victim of a bunch of gold digging whores....

R.I.P. Heff. What gets me is how these women that sponged off him for years are coming out saying he virtually made them beg for their "Allowance." and how they had to tow the line and follow his rules to get the allowance. These women weren't clubbed over the head and sold into slavery, they knew exactly what they were there for, but they bounced in with open eyes, hands reaching, silicone a jiggling. Holly Madison was in that circle for eight years, but I guess her allowance wasn't good enough, or maybe he wasn't dying fast enough for her. There's always the tell all book to cash in faster. I can't say I respected the man for his lifestyle. But you can't buy it if it ain't for sale.

I'm not a fan of hugh heffner, but what people need to understand is when you do nude modeling, the agency you worked for own those photos, because you signed the rights over to them. So if someone like heffner wants to buy them from the agency, and publish them on their magazine they can, because you don't own them at all. Most of these women that were playmates/bunnies knew how strict and unfair his rules were before they agreed to deal with him, from what I seen from a documentary about him, he was a straight forward person that put everything on the table.

Monroe posed for those pics in 1949, she was already a star by 1953. Hef was in legal rights purchasing the rights to Monroe's photos, and directly or indirectly it really helped her career.
