Is there ANYWHERE you're safe in the US these days?
You might not think it when you see what’s going on all over this great nation, but crime over the last decade is actually far lower than it once was back in the late 80s and early 90s. Although that has changed over the last couple years as crime is ticking back up all over the place.
The latest Global Peace Index was released for 2021, and the United States ranks 121st of the 163 biggest nations. That means this country is far more dangerous than countries like Iceland and New Zealand. We’re actually just about as dangerous as Azerbaijan and Burkina Faso which is just pathetic. You know with all the hate crimes and mass shootings and gang activity and just all around BS.
After a big drop in crime in 2015, crime levels in the United States are tracking back UP again. 2020 and 2021 were both SUPER bad for crime in many cities across the US. Some of that was because of Covid, some was from the hangover that came from those riots. Part of the uptick was because criminals are emboldened more now than ever. Police officers are quitting. Cops are being defunded. And in many communities, law enforcement is letting crimes go or are not engaging with dangerous individuals because of the possible fallout.
Seems like the criminals have taken the streets back in parts of the US. And that’s part of the reason so many people are leaving large metro areas and looking for a more peaceful life. But if you want to move to a state that’s cheap and rural and slower paced, do your research wisely. Because the states we’ll talk about have crime levels that are far higher than everywhere else. Let’s take a look at the most dangerous states in the US for 2021.

Today is the 80th anniv of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Many of our poor sailors were slaughtered on that day. Yes, Oklahoma has a tough "3 strikes and you're out" law. They don't mess around. 3 times, and you get up to 30 years in jail, and this is for non-violent- non-drug offenses. Much violence occurs outside of pharmacies. That seems weird, but many people in poorer areas see doctors and are given pain meds. Some unscrupulous patients sell their pills to local drug dealers right in front of the pharmacies where their scripts are filled. They argue over the price, and wham!

After building my family as a California resident, living and working in north LA county, the last straw prompting us to relocate was a gang related, high speed car chance from the San Fernando Valley up to Palmdale and the police cars behind the lead car passing right behind my home there in late 2004. I watched myself on an LA TV channel, who followed the criminals, wave at the county sheriff's chopper passed above me shinning the aircrafts spotlight onto my backyard . TIME TO MOVE! Put both our residence and rental income property up for sale. Resigned from both our cherished career jobs at NASA Edwards A.F.B. and packed up the household goods we wanted to take and sold everything else. We moved to southern New Hampshire and absolutely love it here. No state income taxes or sales taxes. Extremely low criminal activity and gun friendly populous. Excellent public and private educational institutions. Opportunities galore. If you think you are trapped where you love, think again and GET OUT!!!

Nick,Nick would you please tell us southerners how you and all these northern states like Washington state and oregan and Milwaukee and New York and Chicago and Alaska and California well I didn’t mean to say how you tamed all of these wild and evil people that are really destroying and burning their towns down and killing people and beating up old and handicapped people. They were burning,looting and killing people of all ages I mean babies and even the homeless people didn’t have a chance. So my question is how did they get them to stop from doing all those bad,evil criminal things they were doing? Us southerners need to know these things since all the good people are moving away from them crime ridden places to the south didn’t you tell them how much worse it is down here in the south? Do you know how to stop a bad man with a gun, you get a good man with a gun.

New development in my small rural town in PA of about 5,000: car break-ins in town. Never thought I'd see the day. Until yesterday, only sheds, garages, and camps were targeted for theft. Deaths still are from car crashes, drug overdoses, and cancer. But a few towns over, a woman has been arrested twice for walking down the street completely nude. Meth and pills.

Nick, you touched on it some in the video but as a realtor, you can appreciate that location makes a huge difference in crime statistics. Location, location, location. I lived in Little Rock for most of my adult life and the local paper would periodically publish a map showing where the murders and crime occurred and not surprisingly, it was concentrated in select areas of the city. Looking at the map, it wasn't hard to find common denominators in the high crime areas. I now live in Bentonville in the booming northwest Arkansas section of the state, and violent crime is much lower here.

Hi Stephen, I am from Los Angeles California area, I've been to Germany, Switzerland, Taiwan, Canada, Mexico City, probably 25 of the U.S. states. I lived in Redmond, Washington and moved to the North West Arkansas. It's a hidden gem. Home is where you hang your hat. We all, need to make the place we live the best place to live. I am a California Realtor, and lived in some not very good California areas. While I lived in those areas, I made it my home, and did what I could to make the area a better place. I encouraged and helped people to get ahead. Most people just need a little help, guidance, advise. Just helping a little, makes a big difference. But the person, you help has to want the help. Are you working for Walmart? If so, Walmart does give back. I use to think they didn't. North West Arkansas is definitely a great place to live.

Family does not play a role in upbringing. Just because your father is not around doesn't mean that you are destined to be a thug. The best thing that happens to some young people like me is the absence of fathers in the house.
@yossarian_lives
@yossarian_lives 2 жыл бұрын
Sadly all the reliable studies suggest that family breakdown and the lack of fathers has a huge impact on crime and society. Our juvenile detention facilities are full of fatherless boys. I agree that you are not destined to a life of crime but we need to be honest about what's good for both families and wider society. Family breakdown and the abandonment of traditional marriage are huge factors in causing poverty and crime.

It goes to show that societal woes aren't *entirely* due to govt. There is an ongoing exacerbated crisis of culture in many of these areas. In 1980 I lived in Long Beach California, I owned an autobody shop, I was into martial arts, as being WHITE can be dangerous depending on where you live.. Shutting down my shop at 5:30 pm. In summer, I got mugged by 3 guys, two of them pulled knives After about 3.minutes of intense fighting. I finally won. But I now had a broken nose and a cut on my arm. And covered in blood.!! I decided to carry a gun after that. About 2 years later I got in a fight with 1 guy, about 30 seconds later it turned out to be 5 guys on me. Someone got behind me and was choking me. While I was fighting with another guy in front of me. I pulled my gun, shot into the ground letting them know it's real. The main guy didn't care he jumped on me again. It seemed as though he was extremely strong. I was backing down the street when another guy grabbed me from behind and started choking me. I got him off me. Then told the Main trouble maker to stop or I'll shot !! He attacked me again, then I pulled the trigger ! Shotting him in the chest with a 38. HE STILL DIDNT STOP !! After about 30 seconds someone watching, which was about approximately 40 or more people yelled, "your shot"!!, he had no shirt on, and the bullet when through him out his back !! Ripping open his back ! At that point he stopped looked down at the hole in his chest !! Then pasted out ! I was arrested, when I got an attorney I told him what happened. He ordered blood testing for the guy I shot. The reason the guy kept fighting is he was on. PCP, a horse tranquilizer !! Even with all the evidence. I still went to jail. It came down to that if I would have RUN instead of fighting the whole deal wouldn't have happened !! Well I dont feel I should have to RUN. !! Is this. AMERICA ?

My theory on Alaska that is based soley on unscientific personal observations. There's a lot of desperate people that moved there for the promise of a high-paying job in some low skill, but hard-to-fill manual positiom. For some, whatever plan they hoped for fell through, either the job didn't work out, didn't last as long as they hoped, or they took their old bad habits with them and quickly got fired. Then, drug and alcohol problems took over, and now they're stranded without enough money to go back to the lower 48. I saw and met quite a few of these types in and around Anchorage.

I’m not certain about any other area of the country, but I have lived around North Charleston in the past, and I can say for a fact without a doubt that the crime there is because the EXTREME lack of police oversight. The North Charleston PD in particular has no investigative body that does any investigations work. Unless the police know exactly who did it, where to find to find them, deem them not a threat, and also catch them in the act. Then they won’t ever make an arrest. They do zero police work and simply go from crime scene to crime scene filling out reports. The only place in the nation that I know of, that will literally tell you they can’t send an officer out to you, and that you have to come to them to fill out a report. Then, even when you go out of your way to make a report, it gets filled out and then filed away. NEVER at any point in time is it ever reviewed by an actual investigative person, and this crime involved a literal federal offense. They simply allow car break ins and retail theft and don’t consider them crimes worth investigating. If you are the victim of a crime, the police will spend the entire time trying their hardest to convince you NOT to write a report and add to their case load. They’ll even flat out tell you that nothing will be done anyway, so there’s no since in writing a report. The chief of police is FAR more interested in protecting criminals than he is doing his actual job which is police work. They’ve had 9 shootings in 2 years at the EXACT same shopping mall and the North Charleston police can’t quite figure it out. They’re always looking the other way, and always seem to be 30 minutes away, yet their headquarters is not even 2 miles away from the exact mall that is seeing all of the shootings.

Nick, I live in Burlington, Vermont and there’s definitely been an uptick in crime here in general lately. There’s been a lot more shootings and robberies. That said, I was always under the impression that crime is so low here because of the relatively easy access to guns here. When I first moved here you used to be able to buy a gun from someone in a PARK & RIDE at midnight. Most people wouldn’t even check your ID or give you any kind of receipt. The gun laws here are the lost slack of all 50 states. Now unfortunately OR fortunately depending on how you look at it, all sales with a few exceptions must go through a background check. That said, I believe that most Vermonters are armed and an armed society is more polite towards each other. That extends to Maine and New Hampshire. We can carry guns up here with NO permits between the 3 states and Vermont has no permits at all. As a Black man in these states that are by far majority white, I don’t feel any of that racial tension that I feel in other places that are not even nearly as white. I feel safe and welcome 99% of the time. Honestly there are “moments” but they’re few and far between. I also own some land up in the mountains where I shoot and I’m actually planning a house build up there. Thanks Nick. You’re videos get more and more interesting as we go. Definitely in my top 5 overall! ✊🏾

Nick I met Don Davis, the Dons Guns owner that you played the ad video of, years ago here in Indianapolis, where Dons Guns had a few stores in the area. Interesting note, at one point the Dept Of Justice had him named as the #4 gun dealer in America that sold guns to criminals which Don blamed on straw purchases (where a legally permissible gun buyer is buying a gun for someone who isn’t) I was also told by several old timers who knew Don that back in the 70s he was the guy you got in touch with if you wanted someone to disappear. The man was utterly pleasant and very easy to talk to, at least he was with me, but knowing who he was and the allegations i was told about him it creeped me out to no end. He passed away 10 or so years ago but his flagship store, the only one that was open after a couple scandals the biggest being a robbery at his Greenwood Indiana store that left one of his employees dead, is still open on Indys West Side in the shadow of a decrepit shopping mall that long ago saw better days.

I am a mentally disabled American with substance use issues. I was on the streets for 10 years just moving into my apartment 2 years ago. It seems like all I hear is that something needs to be done about the homeless people. People look down at us like we all trash to be taken out and disposed of. The new homeless villages being constructed by the city of Portland OR look more like what you would have seen during ww2 in Germany. The news make it look like every homeless person in the city are out to steal and hurt someone. When a white person says something like this to someone black they lose there jobs and are shamed. Right now roe vs wade is under attack and women are yelling my body my choice. Who defends the non violate drug users from arrest and persecution just for putting a drug into their body. A drug alone doesn't make a person bad. Being rejected and harassed not allowed to have a job because they use. Looked down at by all the normal people. When the lock down happened one of the first things I asked was what happens to the people on the streets. I said they would be exposed to covid really bad. A person looked at me and said good there are too many of them anyway. When we are all gone and the rich and powerful have no more need of workers then those of you who look down at use will know how we feel. If trump would have won what do you think your life would be like in a few years. He was willing to have his own co leader hanged because he wouldn't reject the electors. Was willing to have all those in his way removed and put into jail. And its not over he will come back into power or someone he has under his thumb. He owns the courts and most of the government. I think the normal 99 percent have more to be scared of then the homeless. I know no one will even read this all the way and just laugh. In a few years at most you will have wished you had done things different.
