What are your thoughts? Is peace possible during turbulent times?
@quorrakai3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! We need to focus on our own lives, within our own small world. Taking the huge burden of the world is too much for any human. There has always been war, unrest, corruption etc but it's magnified because of social media and the media. Turn it off. It's ok to be happy and strive for peace within your own life and surroundings. You aren't build for, and don't need to know every single thing going on 24/7. Just my opinion but it works for me. 😊

Peace is possible when people leave selfishness.. Everyone, every country wants to prove his/her/it's existence & dominance on other. Everyone is trying to prove how powerful he is than others. But are we thinking that what we will get by this... We are gaining these at the cost of other people & nature's rights & existence.. They are deprived from their rights because of some one's aggression & dominance.. Why we dominate, are we are not aware of our own existence , feel inferior or wish to prove superiority? Rich countries are trying to become more rich by explosive way.. People are not rich by how much wealth & superior technology they have but rich by heart, by mind caring for self & others existence & rights too.. Like Buddha said let's adopt middle path. That will never hurt & suffer any one.. Unless we leave selfishness & competition of dominance on other, how we will get peace? Is it necessary to dominate others always just to fulfill your ego & existence.. Always Trying to show how you are different than others.. No......We all are one may be different by skin colour, language, wealth & education but blood is red & all systems of body are same.. Sun rays spread from one sun but they never try to show their separate existence. They just spread light. We are like sun rays from one sun that is purity.. If we stop competing, selfishness & dominance behavior, peace is possible... Live &:let others live too... With lots of love & Metta 🙏

He has great great videos on his you tube channel especially the easy to follow meditations, calm relaxing and peaceful, which I follow more and more and more. I always take the time to see into how people get where they are in life such as him and how they got there. ,🙏🙏🙏 I did basic research on this man and realise he came from hard times, became a very successful business person and gave it all up to be a Buddhist monk. That speak volumes to me. He’s always willing to help through his teachings on you tube, has the most wonderful presence, and I wish HIM all the happiness and good fortune of life in the world. He’s changed me so much through having had depression, anxiety, and stress all my life. He does not preach as neither did the Buddha. . He only guides. . Yes . . folks for free. Love and kindness to you always Nick x 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️ P.s I promise anyone to defy what lovely gift this man can teach and show the world to be a better place.

Being a Catholic I so much identify with this life. In French Canada (Quebec, 1960) the nuns tried to encourage and inspire us to give serious thought to religious life - from the age of six! It was instilled in us, children, that it was the only life worth living and we had a deep respect for all nuns and priests. Of course Catholic history - especially during the Middle Ages - is incomplete without monasteries - which were essential in founding Christian civilization through their learning and their discipline. There are so many similarities between Buddhist/Christian monasticism. Yes, we Catholics all longed for the peace that we knew was possible only in the religious/monastic life.

Venerable Nick thank you for making this documentary. Please thank Venerable Santosh and Venerable Michael for the effort and time they gave to participate in making it. Not only the video, but the thoughts behind it had a profound effect on my thinking and thus changing my life. It all clicked as if someone turned on the light. Never before have I seen this kind of beauty. Never before have I been shaken to my core. The light, love and blessings from the monks reached my heart and deeply touched my soul, and for this I am forever gratefull. I can't be there with an offering to show my gratitude, so please take this little comment, those few words and the prayers and light and love I am sending to you and monks and whole comunity. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I found the narration to have just as much impact as the visual. Your words to accompany the video were obviously well thought out and written. Thank you for adding that level of excellence to this. I’m going to watch it again just to hear the narration part once more.

Great video Nick - I’ve adopted some principles of your morning routine, it brings such a clarity, and sets me up to have a balanced and mindful day. I also like listening to your videos throughout the day at work - perhaps not as mindful practice but hearing the lessons being repeated serves as a good reminder. Thank you for what you do!

Thank you, Ven. Nick. Very helpful. I'm a big fan of theory, but seeing theory in practice resonates with me on a much deeper level. Seeing others just do it can be a good teaching tool. 👍👍👍

I was into Taoism when I was in college back in the late 70’s. I studied the art of tai chi for 4 years an became an instructor. The movement meditation helped calm my my mind an exercise kept my muscles moving. I can turn to my tai chi practice again an work on breathing to calm my mind. Thank you Ben. Nick/!!?

beautiful video! thx as always Nick. It really captures how unnecessary all of the 'nutty-ness' of our current events are, when you see how it's possible to live in a simple, peaceful way. As a side note, the cinematography is outstanding! like showing different angles and close-ups. Great work!

O just don't know why but your videos are just mesmerizing.. I am just so much attracted to this kind of simple lifestyle when being 24 I am puzzled in life. Competing with the people like me.. Sometimes, I just feel that life is not that tough that we have made it. We are not satisfied with the basic necessities of life and we are always uncomfortable and pessimistic about our lives which I believe now is very simple if we are satiated at our minds. Thank you so much. Huge resect from India. 🙏 Keep it up 👍

Much respect and love for monks and you Nick. Question - how to keep peace and compassion in our world of working so much, angry motorists, and dealing with other people that do not practice mindfulness? It is like a strong wave of negativity and anxiety when you step out into "civilization."
@nickkeomahavong013 жыл бұрын
Yes that's normal, but just be mindful and bring your awareness and attention back to yourself and the present moment. Keep catching yourself and training yourself. It takes time and practice :)
