Something I've started doing with these really tough bosses is trying to go into 5 or so attempts with the intention to ONLY dodge the attacks and try to figure out the moveset and timings. I'll go in without my weapons in hands just so I'm not temped to attack and I'll try to just stand still so I can focus on just dodging the attacks at the last second. It's been game changing for me and helps me to not rage, but also to learn them faster.

I find it better to do the opposite and try to find any openings you can force and safe positions where you can attack/charge attack while they're doing their combos since it's much more difficult to find those things unless you purposely take stupid risks. Finding out exactly how many attacks in succession it takes to stagger is a game changer.

@@kodiacstephens8104 I agree with that, but it’s usually the next step after I do what I said before since at that point I at least have an understanding of what combos the boss does. They kinda work together. And to be clear, I only do this when I’ve already gotten wrecked a few times and realize I need to slow down if I’m gonna overcome this boss. I think with time in these games you learn to focus on the enemies movesets earlier and then you don’t have to take as much time as I sometimes do to figure a boss out

@@C-Dolla I mean about a month with no summons is right. I beat sekrio in 2 weeks and that game was somewhat harder until you master it. In Eldin ring it’s the open world aspect and collecting items that can add to the play time couple with the bosses.

Godfrey is definitely one of those bosses that some people find insanely tough and others not so bad. It’s always interesting to see how some people deal with bosses compared to others. Also if Elden Ring is Breath of the wild to Zelda, Dark souls 1 is Ocarina of time. Perfect in its own way. You should try it

i think a lot of the problem people have with godfrey is they're so used to dodging that the jumping over his aoe's is clearly what the devs wanted you to do. he's a much easier fight when you practicing jumping over dodging him.

Nick,there are ways to buff-up other than using your summons. Bloodflame blade,or eat some exalted flesh or some of the dried livers just before a fight.. Go into your inventory and look at these options..even some of the greases are excellent just before a fight..I've never seen you using any of it..

I would definitely return for a from software series loved this. Elden Ring is just the beginning. DS1 Remake, Bloodborne, and DS3 are all insanely good. Highly recommend them. Nioh and Sekiro are also really good. DS3, Nioh, and Sekiro intensify though.

As other people have suggested there are other soulsborne games to enjoy, not the least of which being Sekiro, but if you're looking for something awesome that's a change of pace you have gotta go with Armored Core 6. That'd make for a sick series.

After Elden Ring DLC if you want to keep playing souls games, try Sekiro, dark souls 3, Demons Souls Ps5 or lies of p (Lies of p in my opinion) the others feel very dated If you don't want to play a souls game. Consider The last of us 1 and 2, God of war 2018 & Ragnarok or red dead redemption 2
