Dr. Melfi was a quack..using psychoanalysis in the new millennia??She didn't even know how manipulative a sociopath can be in treatment, until the end of the show when Elliot gave her a study. Thing is, this a very rigorously studied topic and the manipulation is "psych 101" and is common knowledge among professionals. When she sees no progress, instead of changing her approach, she eagerly turned to Prozac and then Xanax w.o telling him any of the side effects (possibly a product placement sponsor). She really was a shit (inaccurate and naive) psychiatrist. It's like a primary doctor not knowing anything about the flu. I will admit that while she was a bad representation of modern day mental health treatment, she opened doors for more psychology to be included in shows and eventually pop culture. Good for Lorraine Brocco. If she was forced to play Carmella, there would be a lot of silent treatment and calm disagreements, fully controlling her emotions lol Most psychiatrists today (and other specialties) will see u for 5min to ask u about any issues with Rx and write u a refill to manage symptoms. And it's the therapist (PhD, MSW, PsyD, etc) handles the talking, insights, cognitive-behavior etc). Although I'm sure there are still psychiatrists who provide symptom management AND talk therapy. Probably a niche for the rich.

I’d argue tony was the type of gangster that avoided nicknames on purpose. His last name gave him clout but also authority. In a way not having a nickname forces people to respect the name you’ve got. But that’s just speculation. Any way Christopher is obviously “the nose” or “the schnoz” which is a great double entendre because of his habit and extraordinarily large beak. But the boys could claim it’s because “he has a nose for a making money” My dad was an elks club dude, they knew a guy called “money maker” which is a cool nickname except they called him that because he was always on some get rich quick scheme that never paid off. So money maker is up for grabs too if that helps.
