Mushrooms did wonders in my life. I could remember several years ago, I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Was actually diagnosed with cptsd. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with related health challenges.

Space heater for the winter? Have you tried submersible aquarium heaters? You could use the same tub that you used for fogger unit, and heating the water translates much more efficiently than attempting to heat air. They sell aquarium heaters that are rectangular plastic boxes, rather than the glass tubes that would be a breaking danger. It is theorized that heating water can save much money versus heating air.

I LOVE seeing your set up!! WHAT AN ABSOLUTE DREAM!!! I am only growing them outside during the cool months. But I would just LOVE to have a small set up like this to go bananas with growing as many mushrooms as I wanted ALL YEAR ROUND!!! (I do fantasize about it quite often!) I'm in Central Texas, and our late Fall/Winter/early Spring seasons are normally perfect outside for growing my favorite, which is Lions Mane! I grow Liobs Mane 2 different ways. Most of my harvest comes from cultivated blocks. But I also have WILD Lions Mane!! Which feels like a real honor having it grow here!! I had nothing to do with it being here, nature just brought it to me!! Hericium Americana is what we have ID them as, & they're growing on a couple of logs & stumps I've got here in my yard. The fruit has comes back every year for the past 3 years, and actually that happening is what got me hooked into growing mushrooms in woodchips here in my yard! It's just so much fun growing my own mushrooms!!! With the cultivated varieties, I use both new blocks that I buy, and I also collect some used blocks that the professional growers discard. Which brings me to a question I have about a Blue Oyster block I recently got. I've never grown Blue Oysters before, so I'm not sure why this one thing is happening. The mushrooms are developing these tiny brown, pin hole sized, spots on top of the caps. The spots are a rusty brown color. They don't spread or multiply. They don't look like a fungus, or anything menacing. Really, they just look unsightly. They simply look like tiny rust spots. So I'm just wondering what is making that happen? Have you ever seen that? Or maybe you just know what it's from? I'm guessing it has to do with the conditions it's growing in, which is outside in the open. The temperatures fluctuate. They aren't covered, so it could be low humidity, or too much light? And the spots are only on the older fruits. The pins, and smaller mushrooms don't ever have the spots. It's happened twice in 2 different flushes. Anyway, I just thought I would ask for some advice on the spots. If you, or ANYBODY, has any ideas of what thats from, I would love to hear them!! Thanks y'all !!

My advice: Put those cheap $8-10 HEPA pre-filters on your A/C units with double sided tape and silicone beads and they'll probably last 2-5x longer with 15 minutes of work. You could also make some sort of adapter that is 3d-printed to fit perfectly and just keep re-using those forever. Would make sticking filters on a breeze.
@The_Brew_Dog11 ай бұрын
Actually this can cause your AC units to burn up even faster, I know because I tried it. The units have to work much harder to get the airflow even through a clean hepa filter, the internals get hot and burn up. Now if you could develop some sort of intake box with a filter and pre fan that would probably work. You’d need to measure the airflow to make sure the two fans are matched with each other so for me it was more work than it was worth.

@@theboringchannel2027 You're right. He's most likely getting closer to $30 /lb for that Lions Mane and at least $15/lb for the Blue Oysters.
@theboringchannel2027 Жыл бұрын
@@PilgrimBlake those are premium RETAIL prices for those mushrooms, which you are not getting at a farmers market, or selling much of at those prices. Also there is a cost to do retail, which reduces your net considerably. Costs time and money to go deliver your mushrooms as well. If he was making bank like you assume, his place would be larger already, and a bit more professional in its construction. Used chemical drums in food production is a big no no, done to cut corners, because there is not enough profit to do it properly.
@PilgrimBlake Жыл бұрын
@@theboringchannel2027 all I suggested is what he may be selling his mushrooms per pound. Of course there are expenses. That’s part of running a business. You’ve made a lot of assumptions here and I believe underestimating how expensive produce is sold at many farmers markets.
