Just a tip it's a lot easier to remove the retainers with a socket and a mallet. You just hold a socket over-the-top and hit it so that it compresses the spring very quickly and the retainers will shoot out inside the socket. You have to make sure you keep your hand on the socket next to the top of the spring so that the retainers don't shoot out from underneath. Once you do it a few times and you know how to do it you can do each spring in a matter of seconds then you can use a spring compressor when putting it back together

Heat the seal up with a torch bro they slide off easy .and put some grease on the keeper to keep those bastards from moving

My 97 civic hx burns oil but doesn't smoke i was not sure about changing the valve seals it has 270k miles probably is the problem of oil level dropping.

Not to be mister hindsight but you could've just bent in those to tabs on your puller to have a more secure fit.

I have a d16z6 del sol similiar engine. Did you have to do TOP DEAD Center before your removed the rocker arm assembly?

I only need to replace the rocker arm assembly where the valve cover bolts on. I found the culprit where the oil was leaking. Previous owner must of over tighten breaking the middle bolt.

It ended up being piston rings. I'm in the process of rebuilding the motor now.
