I think people need to take it easy on the criticism, smowe isn't forcing anybody to buy this boot and it doesnt indicate any change to the main brand. Dress boots are a growing market, and PNW have the expertise and resources to build them... so they should. At these low volumes and at the margin it's an opportunity to give back to the craftsmen who have experience and excel at their craft. I think that's an element that smowe could add in his marketing... it's a reward for excellent craft for his people. I think that would help the story. Ultimately there are rich buyers who already identify with the brand, and will buy these boots.

The average Nicks fan that this is advertised to would rather have two pair of Nicks rather than a single Brandle pair. Think that’s the problem.
@imcknight26953 ай бұрын
Really think putting the time to bring these upgrades to the nicks line or adding a new sub “premium heritage” line, would result in better return than Brandle as a new brand capturing new buyers. Judging by the community posts I’ve seen, quite a lukewarm response and that’s from the fans following the brand who would be more supportive.
@carlosbeverley85323 ай бұрын
This 👆🏻 There seems like such a disparity between the two brands, almost like they shouldn’t be associated with each other. I’m a Nicks fan as well but that price point is completely out of my wheelhouse. I think the “premium heritage” idea would be the perfect balance between them to at least bridge the gap of a PNW boot & a more European style boot. The pair that Rose Anvil reviewed on the Brandle last in CXL is a perfect example of what I would be willing to purchase. Just my two cents.

This is a great $800 boot if quality is as intended. But I have to think they can sell a lot more $600 boots if they worked on delivering their core line faster. They sell enough to do most in stock like Truman. I was rather buy $600 nicks if I could get cool leathers or models faster.

*In other videos and on their Reddit, they have mentioned it all depends on the availability of their leathers. And when some leathers run out, they do take awhile until they are back in stock. So that's one of the factors for the lead times.*

I'm still not sold on them and that's not likely to change anytime soon after the experience I had trying to purchase a pair when they launched. Viberg is still the company to beat in this category, which is why I feel they ultimately decided to compare them to Alden instead.

Come on man be specific...for me I've had quality control issues...didn't really notice it until the wear in...these were no refund factor seconds... My suggestion is if you order any boot from Nicks with a screwed and stitched sole, run your fingers through the insole of the boot. If you feel any raised bumps on the outside edges, thats the screw sticking up, it never goes away, you can cheat it over with a insert... But if you feel that on your brand new boot return them and make sure the screws are screwed straight and flush...it can happen. Another annoyance is lasting nails are left in the center of the heel, these are supposed to be removed...Nicks offers to pound them down with some re-bar and return them...if you have a lasting nail sticking out in the center of the heel, send them back, they should have been removed during the lasting process... It is normal to have nails around the boot, but in certain areas such as the heel area its not supposed to be there...I'm talking center of the heel not the edges, nails are normal in that area but they are pounded flat. Customer service seems good, but don't wear your new boots if you suspect QC issues, call them and return them ASAP they'll look at them and get back to you.

Make an honest 400$ boot, or 425$ with shipping. A simple stripped down no nonsense work boot. A brand within a brand is gonna be interesting. But at the respective price point...I think people will grab a Lofgren or Viberg and be happy. Now why not do a custom last and go for the 2k-2500$ route...What good does this fancy narrow dress last do if it will only work with few people? People seriously about "highest" quality footwear are also serious about perfect fit...limited last sizing works for just about nobody.
