Using a long Delft Clay casting flask allows casting a cuff bracelet to be easily achieved.
In this video I demonstrate the Delft Clay casting system using a new home-made mould for casting a silver cuff bracelet.
For more information on the Delft Clay casting method I made a two-part video with a
lot more detail in it. Here's the links for both videos.

I did not include making the metal mould in this new video as I had covered it in a previous one.
If you would like to see how I go about making these metal moulds, here's a link to that original video "Making a Delft Clay casting flask for silver ring shanks"

I appreciate comments and feedback below any video, it's great to have some connection with viewers, or if you have any questions about my videos that I may be able to help with.

Love the little trick with Cookson’s website to find out the required weight of Silver, excellent job! Also, no vent lines required in a vertical mold like this…?
@Nickscreativestuff
@Nickscreativestuff 4 ай бұрын
Hi Peter, yes Cookson’s built in calculators are a great help for weight and size conversions. When casting vertically I tend to allow the mould to be slightly diagonal allowing the molten silver to flow down the side of the cavity, air releases at the same time preventing airlocks, so no need for vent lines. My next vid I’m working on is very similar, managed to cast a silver rod 11 inches long with this technique … N

after removing your hot cast item from the mould you are left with a thin burnt surface that was touching the molten metal. This blackened layer is scraped away and disposed of. The rest of the clay can be reused indefinitely as long as it’s not to contaminated with dust, dirt and burnt clay. limiting the amount of clay that gets burnt helps. small thinner items cool quicker and burn less clay. removing an item quickly from the mould helps burn less clay. after 10 years and a lot of castings my large pile of clay was somewhat reduced I’m now on my second batch of Delft Clay … N

Nick, I am going off on a rabbit trail here. I watched your short about how to make a rotating annealing tray with the pumice, but I couldn't post my question then. Where did you get the rotating tray? Did you put it together for yourself, or did you order it from a supplier and then just add the pumice? Thanks so much. I keep all your videos in a special folder.

Hi mbr, the main component of this set up the “lazy Susan rotating turntable bearing” I found in a charity shop and paid very little money for it. They can be found online in varying sizes. For it to work well i place a heavy steel plate on top that I happen to have in my workshop. I bought the stainless steel round tray that holds the pumice in a local discount store. All in all much cheaper than a large commercial annealing pan from a jewellery tool supply company. there’s a bit more detail in the long play version of this video. If you’ve not seen it here’s a link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYfLeJVprJ5nppY … cheers … Nick
