As a mopar restorer I can appreciate this whole setup you have. We have a warehouse the size of an airplane hanger full of parts (used and new). We also have over one hundred cars (mopar) for sale or parts, and with all of that just a microscopic bit of it is hemi related. Original gen 2 hemi parts are getting harder to find every day. When I started working at chrysler back in 69 the stuff was all over the place, now people hoard everything and it drives prices up if you can find what you need. Great job Nick. Don't know what you're asking, but just hang in there, someone with deep pockets will eventually come and scoop it up.

A Monday afternoon and a version of The Price Is Right, Nick's Garage style, just awesome! Very cool to see an entire E-Body Hemi driveline on display, especially one that is detailed to perfection. As rare as some of these parts are makes this driveline absolutely priceless. Nick, please don't sell this driveline, like you did to The Keeper Hemi. I know that will all of the work that you put into building this combination, the machining, and the parts chasing. this combo has got to be worth north of $75,000USD. This combo would make someone's E-Body a world class car. I really enjoyed this video George, great camera work.

A freshly rebuild drum brake assembly is a thing of beauty, they only look like that once 👍
@ecleveland1
@ecleveland1 Жыл бұрын
Believe it or not when I rebuild the drum brakes on my F350 they look almost like factory new. I clean everything spotless and go back with new shoes, wheel cylinders, complete hardware kit and a new drum if I can’t turn it. If something is rusted I remove the rust and paint it or replace it. It’s much easier and less expensive to buy a new brake assembly than each individual piece. Many people don’t know about the assembly being available under one part number. It’s the same with trailer brakes. There’s no reason to fuss with every single part when you can get a complete assembly. Fact is check for manufacturers complete assemblies when working on rebuilding parts. I got a factory built assembly fuel bowl assembly for my 7.3 Powerstroke and saved almost $100 from buying just the parts to repair it.

OK, my last big block build was 43 years ago. I can fully appreciate chasing vintage parts though. Without your labor and you mentioned you already had the block & rods. My guess is $77,900. in parts. This assumes carbs, all correct fittings and fabbed parts. Assumed that trans & rear axle assembly were done by others. Doesn't include countless hours ordering parts or assembly of drive train. Congrats on a 1st class build!!

That drivetrain is worth more than my entire '68 GTX, Nick - but you know this. As many years as it took me to get the car to a presentable, driving point, such a drivetrain as yours will never happen in my lifetime - but that's ok. I survived cancer six times, got revived a handfull more and am still here - and the GTX (my wife named him "Fred") always needs something else, but I'm still alive and I got the car finished enough to drive around before I ran out of time myself. It's all good, my friend - and that drivetrain is *amazing* . Great job and I wish you the best of luck with the sale! - Ed n the Ridge

Nick, what you have there is an absolute piece of art, for us Mopar nuts, a 526 Hemi, Dana 60, wirh a 4 speed pistol grip, plug and play, I had a 70 road runner Limelight, original air grabber car, 383 with a 727 trans, boy this set up would sure fit the bill in that car, still makes me cry I had to sell it due to a divorce in 1999. I know it means a lot to you personally, but my guess 125k, US., you gotta find a car for this Nick, or I would call Jay Leno, I bet he would be interested, he knows what it`s worth.

If this engine is hand built by Nick, I need it in my bucket list car also built by Nick, 71-74 Cuda in Amber Sherwood or Ivy green, Black interior, black wheels. We probably better beef up the transmission and rear end too, I'd also require that Nick does a smokey burn out just to make sure everything works, probably won't have to twist his arm about doing that lol. I'd also like to add this is easily a 6 figure setup, I've seen what parts matching Cuda's go for down here in the states, you better have deep 6 figures to spend.

So just the parts, I’m thinking about 28k, obviously including labor more than doubles the true value, especially if you include the fact it’s built by Nick with full paperwork and even video documentation. Pretty rare to see a motor for sale with a dyno session on KZbin, that’s probably worth another 5k 😊

Some of this stuff is hard to get, if you can find it, would take months and cost thousands, im guessing 6 figures, as a complete drop in(and youd never find any thing put together right on e-bay) 220,000 might be a low ball for something like this, and professionally built by some one who not only cares, but knows what hes doing, if you had a machine shop, start from scratch, 300,000 wouldnt be unheard of, this is ready to install, in hours, to be road and or track ready, dyno tested and tuned, i thing my numbers are a little low, cant wait to see how wrong i am, Nicks is the place to trust for performance a whole lot of Mopar Horse Power and Mopar Love, street or strip !

I'd love to take that motor and make a 68 Dart LO23 tribute car I think the Hemi 68 LO23 Darts were the top of the food chain. Dana "60" Glass. All I can do is take a guess of $105,000 taking into consideration the parts, labor, dyno time, and display stands. Also the fuel to pick up in person. Great show as usual.

Hi Nick, Happy Birthday and congrats on a fantastic build! I really enjoyed your dyno-tuning episode on this motor. My guess for all parts, including block and shipping costs is $137,500 USD. I love your show and can hardly wait for each new episode! Please keep ‘em coming! Skip, Wellton Arizona.

It’s rare so it’s worth whatever someone is willing to pay. The highest legitimate bid is the right price and I have no clue what that would be.

Now I'm just plain mortal human I can only dream setups like this, but I had say we are not far from 250 000$ if everything mister Nick said is included. Please let me know if I'm far away. Thank you for very cool videos Nick and crew, God bless😎👍🏻
