Nick, you were making me question my fundamental perceptions of reality and my sanity in general. I was more than a little confused when I got a new notifications for a disassembly video I thought I watched yesterday. But seriously, glad you gave us this follow up. Nice to see such a quick implementation of refinements.

Not sure I'd oil the screw....it has vibratite on it, so it doesn't loosen on its own... I've heard the different Milling patterns actually change the fallshutitude.

I consider that the relief in the frame for the pin through the blade to be a design defect. Way too easy to catch debris in that recess and jam the blade up. The recess in the frame Greatly increases the opportunity for the knife to fail to lock open. Further, it’s a bad idea to remove titanium from the most critical place for strength on the knife.

damn those machined/milled scales are amazing.

Great review and knife. I have to ask, what oil and locktite (glue stick) are you using?

sharpsvilleBill holt's website is where you sign up for updates on production. That's the only place to get them as of now.

Hmm again with the interesting detent, still loving that lock bar cutout! I'm hoping to score a utility version but there's too many good knives coming out and I'm not getting any richer buying the flavor of the month and reselling hah

They seem to have gone the extra mile for this design, am ordering one, if I can find it? I like this better than the Shiri!
@93tedd6 жыл бұрын
Shouldn't the "fallshutitude" increase as the detent softens?
@NickShabazz6 жыл бұрын
Nope. Surface area of contact is the same. Lockbar tension and pivot smoothness are the best predictors of fall-shuttitude.
@93tedd6 жыл бұрын
I know a flat detent, and the sharpness you mention in the video typically means the lockbar requires less tension. It just feels like there should be some change in the lockbar tension as tightening and loosing with the dialable (is that the word) detent, although the opposite of the above perhaps.
@curtisgoodnight6 жыл бұрын
The screw only affects lockbar tension when the knife is closed. Once the knife has been opened, the detent post (which is taller than the screw) will be what is in contact with the blade, so the screw has no impact on the closing action.

Nick, why is the cutout in the blade for the detent oval shaped as opposed to round? V1 also has that characteristic. Does the set screw fit in that cutout? Is there blade play because of that shape? Thanks
@NickShabazz6 жыл бұрын
I don't know that, actually. But I know the Set screw has to, in order for this to function, live outside of the hole.
@chadslvrman6 жыл бұрын
Maybe it’s a carryover from V1 which seems to have two ‘half’ detents that are separate from each over.
