Crazy talent here. A lot of these athletes are at or 1 second off the world championship standard. Kudos to you Nick for giving these men and women some recognition, I’m sure without this video I would never know there are so many runners right on the cusp of going to the Olympics but not quite there. It’s amazing to me that in large part the same few runners are able to keep making it to the big dance when there’s so much depth right behind them. Really speaks to the talent of a runner at the top to know that there are so many competitors within a couple seconds just waiting for him to have an off race and take his place.

Thought I was fast, so was not that impressed with these guys and girls running 19 or 20mph in Nick's videos. For me, fast meant 22 and over. So I borrowed a friend his watch/monitor to prove my point to myself: 17mph! That hurts soooo bad...

17mph means you got to a top speed of 3:31/mile pace. If you held that for 40 yards, it would be a 4.8 40 yard dash, but without a running start, you're likely well above 5 seconds, slower than most NFL offensive linemen. You've got to be an explosive, near- world class athlete to reach these speeds.

I remember that It was night-time, and I stayed slightly ahead of his car while his speedometer was reading 20 mph.I can also recollect that It was more or less basically a 100 yard sprint, or thereabouts that distance.
