I just got into producing because i had more free time at home because of the lockdown. Man its like i am standing in front of a mountain, kickstart was my first plug-in because an instructor promoted it in this amazing video "Ableton Live 10 Wavetable Sound Design Masterclass: Paul Nolan at Liverpool Audio Network". I promised my self to try and make a song from DAW stock sounds before i get into other vst sounds.

The truth is that you don't have to aggressively duck the subbass, even ducking the subbass gently will still tighten up the mix.

1 shot AUDIO triggering would make a way easier workflow with kickstart in Ableton Live. Today we have to make a bunch of midi tracks just for triggering kickstart. It is so ennoying. I'm begging you to add it to an upcoming version.

Is the trigger he's talking about for showing the kick drum in the visual screen? so you can match the side chain with it? I saw a video with David Guetta doing it. He can see the kick drum in the waveform screen, so he can precisely match the side chain presets to it.

I'm trying to use it for the first time. Total newbie. So, struggling, of course. How I have to use it is the first question, but it's only about where to set it up. I mean, trying to do the most common use of this program, should I put it on the bass channel or on the kick channel? All I want is to duck the bass when it messes the kick and lose it back again after the kick. I can do that with a good compressor or even a gate, but now this plugin made me a bit "confused".

I am sorry to hear about this! Sorry for answering late, we're not really monitoring comments here. Could you let us know what exactly is not working? It should work all fine with Big Sur, except that for Ableton Live and Cockos REAPER, please use the VST version.

@@Cableguys I already fixed it! I installed it again then nothing, then another time and now it’s working again. The problem was, like with most vst’s on Big Sur, that the plug-in screen was black.

That's a false alarm from AVG. Please disable your AVG temporarily during installation, and turn it back on afterwards. We can assure you that the Kickstart installer is 100% virus-free.
