This is my all-time favourite scoring pattern. You can score it on a dough that is not overly soft, like my 50% rye sourdough or a low hydration white loaf. You can use any good lame to score as long as the blade is still sharp. I'm using a Sonic Lame as I find it easiest to score clean cuts.
