I always wanted them to work together he and Lynch created one of my favourite all time characters. When the host complemented his jacket I almost wanted him to say it was a symbol of his individuality and his belief in personal freedom I used to say that all the time to test who knew the movie.

Franz Haas I’m a year late reading the comments, but I was there in the audience that night and it was a time I will never forget. Nic hand curated the 5 films we saw that night. He said, and I’m paraphrasing, that he wanted to make selections of his work that he felt were under appreciated, not seen by mass audiences, a good story, and which he felt like he gave good a performance. The list that night included Bangkok Dangerous, Army of One, Bringing out the Dead, Lord of War, and Joe. This was in fact the fourth year the event was held. It was every January four years straight as a way for film fans to celebrate his birthday. I was there every year, and every year we were surprised with 5 mystery Cage movies. It was an all day marathon and it was some of the best experiences I’ve had as a film-lover. Especially being the huge fan of Nicolas Cage that I am. Every year Nic was invited, and every year he couldn’t make it, but through a series of fortuitous events they were able to get him in the final year of the event. I’ll never forget it!

It's so great to see Cage speak so freely about his work. Considering he is one of the most fascinating performers of his generation, and such a private person it's a pretty rare thing to get such kandid insight into his thinking and his feelings about his work. I think Ethan Hawk said it so well when he said that Cage is "the only actor since Marlon Brando that's actually done anything new with the art". And even now, 40 years into Cage's career, he's still electrifying and watching him perform is still such an unequaled experience. I'm truly gratefull that he is still around and swinging!

I love you Mr. Cage. I don't care what critics says about you, I think you're an absolutely versatile actor who deserves more recognition than you already have. However, I wished that you had enough money to be more choosy of the roles you take. Debt has made you accept roles left and right which is kinda saddening.

It's true but at least he is not snobby he just wants to work he never seems to have the attitude I'm Hollywood royalty everyone is beneath me I have an Oscar I won't do a b movie. I have gone to many films just for him he brings a certain something to his performances. I suspect he has many loyal fans like myself who think so.

He ended up playing Spider-Man Noir... which will also probably get his own spinoff film... so he was right 'never say never'. The camera operator did a terrible job, but at least he was able to keep it in focus most of the time... he should just have found something (the phone book... if such thing still exists) to place the camera on the table at an angle and point it at Cage without having to move it.

I heard that Nicolas Cage and John Cusack was considered for the role of John Bender from "The Breakfast Club" in 1985 but instead it went to Judd Nelson. If I ever had the chance to talk to Nicolas Cage or ask him one question; I would certainly ask him about "The Breakfast Club." (Or if he has any regrets about not getting that particular role..) 34:02; I think that was one of his more "messed up" movies he was in.
