I used to have an RB67 Pro SD. Now, I'm shooting with a Bronica ETR Si. As soon as I can afford it, I plan to get an RZ67 Pro IID. Looking forward to shooting medium format digital.

Hi Nicos, I just got a Mamiya RZ67. I have a problem, the first one is that the camera let me take a picture with the metal slide in (apparently that is not normal). However the camera reconise that the metal slide is in Secondly, I can only shoot when the button is lined with the orange spot, when I put it lined to the white dot, it's doesn't make anything, I can press the button but I can't shoot. Tomorrow I'm getting a new battery, I hope it's only a problem with the battery, I already tested it with two different lenses and different backs but it doesn't change anything at all. Thanks a lot!

Since you say the lens has 2.8 max aperture, I assume it's the 110mm?

@NicosPhotographyShow6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The mamiya rb qnd rz can focus so close you need to add stops of light to compensate. they have a little graphic, very easy to understand.

@NicosPhotographyShow7 жыл бұрын
+Peter Cheung It works well handheld but it is heavy. I was very surprised to see my daughter pick it up easily.
@lovercontax49797 жыл бұрын
Nicos Photography Show haha, your daughter is so lovely. how is the ergonomic when holding the camera? coz i always worry if i can hold it properly
@NicosPhotographyShow7 жыл бұрын
+Peter Cheung thanks! She puts up with a lot of photography. The camera feels good in hand. In my opinion its fine handheld with the waist level finder. The prism is really heavy as a add on.
@lovercontax49797 жыл бұрын
Nicos Photography Show so how does rz67 compares to pentax 67 when using handheld? coz i will be doing lots of environmental portrait so it is better for me not to bring a tripod , so which would you recommmend? i consider rz67 is due to the fact that its price is more mediocre when comparing to pentax 67 , pentax 67 has now got loads of fame due to its wide exposure on internet so the price is skyrocketing from what i have seen and the mamiya is more versatile too but less durable ( usual problem with rz67's shutter would not fire up)
@NicosPhotographyShow7 жыл бұрын
+Peter Cheung its hard to tell. But I will make a video about it. I prefer the RZ67 for many things. And my RZ hasnt failed and the Pentax has.

+Dawoud Wouldnt know how to do it. ;)
@tekoppentekoppen7617 жыл бұрын
Nicos Photography Show I didn't either. But I reaseached a little and am now convinced its the best. You can swap the backdrop to what you want later. And with the resolution a 6x6 or 6x7 provides its really awesome.
@NicosPhotographyShow7 жыл бұрын
+Dawoud I guess you are right, i just like using less digital tools. Specially because I wetprint and cant fix green on it. Will research the green screen as one never has enough tools. Thanks!

I have to stop watching videos with such fine cameras as G.A.S. is a serious photographer's disease. Any significant differences (looks, applications...) for Porta 400 vs 160 other than ISO? Thx.
@NicosPhotographyShow7 жыл бұрын
+Stuart Kinkade Hahaha, GAS is a serious matter, I can relate to that ;) About Portra I have seen 160 render skin a little bit better, but they are very similar. Back in day day of NC and VC portra it was a different story. Now they make film to scan and one can add saturation or contrast in post. Go with 160 if you can use tripod or long exp. Or 400 for handheld or dim light. Wont go wrong with any of them.
@flipflopsleica7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Nico. I've shifted from China to India and now to Birmingham. I'm after landscapes with my Shenhao 617 view camera but first to get exposure practice with my GF670 in manual w/ a tripod and using a Pentax V spot meter to get muscle / brain memory locked in then move up to the big guns.

Forgot to say I use the Reciprocity App yet it has a bug in it now confirmed by the developer due to an iOS upgrade that when I hit "Camera" icon to change cameras... it bounces me out of the app. Hope it gets fixed soon.
@NicosPhotographyShow7 жыл бұрын
+Stuart Kinkade nice! I would use 160 and 400 and see what you prefer. But on 617 you will always use tripod. Also you have Ektar but its not much of my liking.

+Stuart Kinkade its a great app when out in the field. I really enjoy the new tools for film photography (apps, kickstarter camera, etc...). Let me know what you end up using with that 617

Beautiful little girl, perhaps using a tripod would have made the shoot easier for both of you. Remember, the day will come when they will refuse outright to be photographed so take all your images now.
@NicosPhotographyShow7 жыл бұрын
+mamiyapress thanks! I enjoy using tripods for my large fkrmat shots but I wanted to be able to move a bir more and handheld with the light I had was pretty ok. I do use focusing by moving myself a lot when shooting up close. Ant that on a tripod is a pain to achieve. I have sometimes thought of a fast monopod but uts rare I miss it.
@mugshot7495 жыл бұрын
It's a lot easier with a tripod.
