What a terrific channel. What a cool lens. My RZ67 Pro came with the metered finder (the older version w/controls on the side.) and a Polaroid back, but a Polaroid pack broke and leaked. After watching a few of your blogs I can see why you love this camera.

Please,using only the mirror up mode if you can not make exposure of 4-5-8-10 minutes? Possible only in "T" mode correct?Thank you very much,keep up yr fantastic work Nico !!

I would appreciate even more information on what the process is for having the corrections. You pretty much go over it here - level camera, adjust lens, shoot - but is that it? Is the final indicator/check having the lines of the uprights straight perpendicular in your ground glsss? Thank-you for the video. Cheers from Canada.

I've never had a tilt shift lens for any of my cameras. It's tempting though, just to see what I could do with it.
@andyvan5692 Жыл бұрын
also, nico, with the lens, you should explain, why you use the release, is the mamiya way of 'mirror_up', you don't literally do it on the body, you split the mirror-raise, and the shutter action via a clutch (the knob on the lens), which allows a second, Auxiliary trigger to do the final 'trip' of the actual shutter mechanics, in effect giving mirror-up action. This also is like a self-timer, as you can flap the mirror, wait a second or two, then fire the lens, avoiding any vibration, or at least letting the vibration which does, dissipate before the shot.

Your one point on getting exposure thru a prism meter always in the shift zero position is a great takeaway, added to my Hasselblad Mutar notes. Another great video production.

Thanks Stuart! We learned the hard way the other day. There is a new video coming for the Mutar too.

That is some beautiful landscape you have there! It was really cool to see you out shooting. This may be my favorite video of yours, yet. Did you have a ground glass with a grid for getting the buildings straight? Back in the day, Kodachrome 25 and 64 were my favorite films to shoot with. Now, it may be Portra 160. Kodachrome was very bold, but Portra is exactly opposite. I really like the calmness of Portra. Thanks for another great video!

Nico, one other point about the level, is that you get most accurate reading the further you are away from the pivot point, so leveling at the viewers' top, is better than 1/2 way down the camera, on the hot_shoe .

when you mentioned using the cable release for 1 sec shot does that mean when your first fire the body at the set shutter speed on body it does not also fire the lens at that speed? I always shot the body with my finger then the lens with a cable release to reset it I thought but does that mean the shutter is open until you press the cable release on the lens? Also if you don’t mind me asking after you are ready for the next shot do you cock the body then cock the lens or the other way around? Thank you !

Quality of the glass is pretty impressive considering how cheap it is. Just bough one for 260,-€. Can´t wait to try it.

Hi Nico. What tripod model is that? Looks like an excellent tripod

Its a Manfrotto 190 aluminum, the cheapest of the family of 190's. It does a good job most times.

@@NicosPhotographyShow thanks for the reply! What about the head you're using? That's what I'm more interested. I don't like to use a ball head with an RB67. The head you're using looks much more functional

Hi @nicosphotographyshow I recently bought a Mamiya and your videos are helping and inspiring me so much. However, I have a question, I hope you will find the time to answer me. It would help me a lot. What light meter do you use in the video? Is it a sekonic l-608? I can't figure out which light meter to buy. I would like something professional that would last me a long time, but opinions are very divided. Thanks

Perfect timing! I just got the Mamiya 645 w/50mm shift and I was wondering do you focus before shifting or after?
@NicosPhotographyShow5 жыл бұрын
Thats a great combo too. I did try and focus after, but it can get quite dark.
@RewDowns5 жыл бұрын
Nicos Photography Show it’s nice because you can get slightly wider (31 equivalent). I found that too...your photos looks tack sharp so it must not matter if you focus before shifting

Hey Nico! I just bought this setup. I have one problem though. I am trying to use mirror up and releasing the shutter with the cable on the lens. To my understanding the shutter should close when I presse the shutter button on the camera and then open and close when I use the cable. But when I press the button on the camera, the mirror swings up but the shutter stays open, hence exposing the film. When I then trigger the shutter with the cable, it merely closes the shutter. Could you tell me if I forgot something or does it sound to you like there is something wrong with my lens? I would appreciate it very much, love the show!

Looks like it doesn’t make your life that much easier than with a 4x5, and large format at least would give you more movements and control. I believe more and more the RZ67 is a portrait/fashion camera rather than anything else.
