The fault light is for your building wiring, so had that light lit, you would want to check your electrical wiring. Also, the testing happens shortly after you turn it on, as you saw, but it will also happen periodically every 1-2 weeks. I have my sensitivity set to the highest because I have my work and personal equipment plugged in.

If you hold down the power button until it beeps twice will run a self test. Holding the menu button let's you pick if you want to keep the blacklist on or let it timeout after a few seconds.

12:38 Make sure it's not an LED printer but a laser printer. If it's a color printer, you can easily check if it's an LED printer by the color print times compared to the greyscale times. If it's an LED printer the times will be almost identical.

2:10 the batteries in that UPS are hot-swappable; no need to power it down. I've repacked a million of that style.

Definitely a nice feature when you have equipment plugged in that must stay online

FYI, you do not need to power these APC units down to swap the batteries. If you do need to shut down the UPS make sure to pull the plug out of the back of the unit.

Is the 1500 in the model number not VA? I have one of these I also scored for free as my employer was throwing it out. I've also got a 2000VA rackmount UPS as well as another 1600VA APC. But then I've got a home lab and rack full of IT equipment to protect! 😅

Two hands doesn't make a difference when the thing you're holding snaps in half lol. even if I had a secondhand available not holding the phone it wouldn't be any use because the lightbulb is too hot to put a second hand on you will burn your hand

I ran across somebody selling some 12v 10Ah LiFePO4 batteries for $10 each. I bought one but should've bought all three, then I could have put two in my own 1500VA UPS and never worry about them wearing out.

If the charger is compatible with it
@eDoc2020 Жыл бұрын
@@nics-systems-electric I believe these APC units only use float charging so they should be compatible. I have the variant from 2007 which lets you recalibrate the voltage adjustment if needed using the serial port. It's actually something to look at even with regular lead acid batteries. Without readjustment this kind of UPS tends to output a bit too much voltage and this leads to premature battery wear. The charge voltage should be between 27.2 and 27.6 volts and IIRC mine was putting out over 28 volts. I think I've read it was a problem due to component drift with age and they might have fixed it on later models.

@@eDoc2020 float charging usually but I think they go into a high charge after they've been drained significantly
