That guitarist with pink hair was Hide. The band includes in modern lives his footages from 90s. He died in 1998 but they commemorate him in this way.

ON DRUMS and Piano -> Yoshiki (Bandleader) ON VOCALS -> Toshi (Bandleader) ON GUITAR (The one with the long curly hair) -> PATA ON Bass (The one with the Feathers in his hair) -> HEATH Than you have Sugizo. He Played the Violin and the second Guitar. He is not actually planned as a permanent Member. He took Hide's (the one with the pink spiky hair wich was shown on the screens) place, who died in 1998. On every Concert hide will be shown ether on Screen or as a hologram to remember him. The Band disbanded in 1997 because of differences between Yoshiki and Toshi, they regrouped in 2007. Since than we are still waiting for a new Album :( HIDE we miss you an will always love you!!

You asked about the name? They were "X" but had to change the name to "X Japan" to avoid complications because there was another band called X in the USA. They started like 40 years ago but this concert has to be pretty recent within the last decade or so after they reunited. Others have commented how legendary this band is and has heavily influenced the entire jrock genre for the last like 35 years. You asked about the violist? Someone else has also mentioned that Sugizo is from another very famous band Luna Sea and is playing lead guitar here. Others have already mentioned that the dearly departed Hide is shown on the screen. Everyone here is a legendary rock star in their own right but the pianist/composer/drummer is an extremely famous rock star on a whole other level. It might be worth comparing this relatively recent performance to other concerts. "The Last Live" was the last concert in 1997 before they disbanded and before Hide passed away.

They are very famous Japanese Rock band. They also had World Tour so many times. Especially, a leader of this band whose name is Yoshiki also has been doing his solo piano concert in the world wide. X Japan is still legend of Japanese Rock Band. You guys should check out their performance in MSG New York and Carnegie Hall in England. They had excellent performance

2 guitar players. With former pink haired guitarist Hide on screen...he passed away in 1998. They show him on screen during concerts. Sugizo...lead guitarist for another top jrock band Luna Sea plays his part for them...also he's the violinist. Pata plays the other guitar. The drummer pianist is the composer and leader of the band, Maestro Yoshiki. Keith on bass since 1992 or 93...took Taiji's spot when he was fired. Taiji also is passed away since 2011. Taiji and Hide appears inthe backdrop videos in every concert. So including those 2 in heaven...there are 7 members in XJapan.5 living members are Toshi the lead singer...Pata and Sugizo on guitars...Yoshiki on piano and drums...and Keith on bass. and Sugizo also plays violin. Quite possibly the best rock band in the world....XJapan

Well, X-Japan is not a "popular band", in Japan is THE BAND, like the Stones are in UK. X-Japan just change the music in Japan in the 80th. The founder, leader, drummer and composer Yoshiki is a musical genius. Yoshiki is possibly the "most unknown famous rock star" in the world Any good metal group in the world knows about Yoshiki. From KISS to Marilyn Manson. X-Japan are not know worldwide because they do all the songs (almost) in japanese, but they are really huge. Just check the trailer of their documentary (made in USA a few years ago) It´s really difficult to express the huge influence of X-Japan in the music in orient. Almost all the metal and rock groups in Japan, Corea or China have some degree of debt with X-Japan. Just think in some facts: The japanese government ask Yoshiki in 1999 to compose a symphonic suite to celebrate the 10 anniversary of the emperor´s enthronement. In USA, Yoshiki have a comic book created by Stan Lee and Todd McFarlane with him as a hero (Stan Lee is the creator of Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Thor, etc...). The one in the violin was Sugizo, a musician with their own band in Japan, a really successful (Luna Sea), but when Yoshiki ask to join X-Japan, he goes without thinking anything. The band have 2 guitar, 1 bass, 1 drums/Piano and a vocalist. In the videos can be a little perplexing because appears another guitar in the screens. One with pink hair and red jacket. He was Hide, one of the original guitarists of X-Japan who died in 1998 in strange circumstances (accident or suicide) and he appears in all the concerts as a tribute, as a fact Hide continue as a "X-Japan member" Yoshiki have an strong classical formation. Son os two musicians starts playing piano at the age of 3 years. He can compose from rock or metal to classical. Oh, and they perform very little now. Yoshiki have chronic pain in the neck and one arm and need painkillers to perform but he loves music. For him, play in a concert like this is a lot of pain, he does not need the money but he loves music. X-Japan history is full of pain and love. You must check one of their best songs, a ballad called "Tears", a song for his father who died (suicide) when Yoshiki was only 10 years old, and in this song Yoshiki as "why... why you let me alone?" kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpDbd2WoZbWUpZo

@@nielsensTVDK Their main original bassist died, but the bassist here replaced him at some point in the 90s I think. Sadly, I think shortly after the band reformed and the old bassist played as a guest with them, he freaked out and attacked someone, I think... He was arrested then killed himself while in custody. I may be remembering the details incorrectly, so don’t take my word for it, but I believe that’s mostly correct.

hide-san did not commit suicide. He passed away due to ACCIDENTAL asphyxiation. He was attempting to relieve pain in his shoulders and neck in a way that most musicians of the time did-a type of at-home traction-but sadly he had had too much to drink and passed out, strangling himself. NO ONE who knew him thinks he did it on purpose. They have all said that it was a horrible accident. He is so greatly missed and loved! ❤️🎸❤️
