It is a wonderful song from the 70s. Perfect for the Summer in Italia. The lyric is very,very poetic and nostalgic. New Trolls were great musicians in many branches of Music. There were master of Prog -Rock first of all. This is more commercial but of highst Quality. Very emotional.

It's about a man remembering his childhood, when his father gave him caresses at night, before going to bed. Now he doesn't know anymore (non so più) the "flavour" (il sapore che ha) of the feeling for his father coming back and for that caress of the night (quella carezza della sera) mixed with the desire of adventure (con quella voglia di avventura) as he did play indians&cowboys with his father, and the desire to go away from the place they were (voglia di andare via di là).

Lovely song but the best part of New Trolls career is in prog rock music. As usual, pop songs like this one become more popular but try to give a listen to "Concerto Grosso". They were amazing musicians.
