Giorgia is an artist with the highest international level skills. The world song market is filled almost entirely with American and British artists. But many times I think that among these there were geniuses, but also many mediocre people. Italians (like many others) have always been disadvantaged by the fact that non-English songs don't have much market. Otherwise artists like Giorgia would be known all over the world. This was a concert held to support victims of the earthquake that had just struck this region of Italy, Emilia. There were many artists performing, as you can see back stage. So this wasn't her exclusive concert, but Italian audiences always sing along the most popular songs. In Vasco Rossi's concerts, everyone sings every single word of every single song.

Giorgia started being widely known in 1994 thanks to Sanremo when she partecipated in the younglings competition with the song "E poi..."she placed "only"7th(while the winner was Andrea Bocelli), then the year after she came back with another song but between the bigs, when she won Sanremo with the song "Come saprei", in 1996 she partecipated again and arrived 3rd still on podium with the song "Strano il mio destino".This song "Di sole e d'azzurro"was the entry she presented in the competition back in 2001, in the only festival ever presented by Raffaella Carrà. It was written by also widely known italian singer and song writer Adelmo "Zucchero" Fornaciari. On fun facts, this song contended the first place to "Luce(tramonti a nord est)"by Elisa and written by Zucchero as well, and only placed second behind it by a few mere points(history as it that it was almost an ex aequo but then Elisa won it by a tiny bit).I've seen you guys react to some stuff from Sanremo 2023, you should listen to their duet from cover night, they sang a medley of these two songs to homenage their podium at Sanremo 2001.Felt like a full circle moment for that edition of the contest and for these two amazing singers.

In Italy there are many female singers with a beautiful voice, but if you think at 1990’s certainly Giorgia and Laura Pausini are the two with most powerful voice! Pausini is well known worldwide but Giorgia hasn’t got the same popularity!! And that’s is not correct because Giorgia has an amazing talent and I think the same potential of Pausini! This is an Italian masterpiece! And a must known in Karaoke parties 😜

Thanks guys! I really think Giorgia along with Mina and Mia Martini are the three female giants of Italian music. By the way: "Di sole e d'azzurro" means: "[Made] of sun and of blue" (azzurro is actually a light shade of blue). The song is about the return to a serene weather after wintertime (snowfields are melting under the sunbeams). This is of course a metaphore for a new start in a relationship after a bad moment, a trouble.

comparing Giorgia to Mia Marini and Mina is ridiculous. Giorgia is a pop singer, a very popular one but she has never achieved the importance of Mina or the quality of Mia Martini. There are other italian female singers that deserve that position next to Mina and Mia martini, two of them are Milva and Ornella Vanoni to which Giorgia can only clean the shoes...

I just picked three names from three different ages: Mina-Martini-Giorgia. I would avoid stupid rivalries between singers or idiotic sentences like the one about shoes' cleansing, especially 'cause Giorgia could literally give vocal lessons to Vanoni. :-P

Only the average italian could be surprised by her style. Moreover you can easily compare the first 30 years of careers of Giorgia with Milva or Vanoni's to see the difference, the evolution and the internrnational success of those divas, a success that Giorgia never achieved, an evolution that Giorgia never really had considering that she is still doing the same music. At the age of 40 Ornella was singing with Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho, while Milva was touring around the world and Germany considered her amongst the three major interpreters of Brecht in German. It's not a matter of rivalry, but if you don't know things, inform yourself, get cultured and after you'll be able to make credible comparisons.

Milva entered the charts of 34 different countries, from Japan to germany, from France to Korea, Giorgia sold around 7 million records that is the number of records sold by Ornella Vanoni's single "l'appuntamento" + the other "Senza Fine" alone. Her songs are recurrently used in major hollywood films soundtracks, Ornella introduced to the world Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin sharing with him her first breakthrough in the british market with the song "La musica è finita" in english, sung by both. Do you really have the courage to compare Giorgia to these divas that have made the difference in the history of italian music without copying the american styles like Giorgia does? Don't be silly. Giorgia wasn't even able to sell in the latin market..

You should definitely listen to "sogni appesi" by Ultimo (performance at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome) which was an incredibly powerful performance. You can really feel his emotion and the intensity of the lyrics ❤ It is also very clear how much this song means to all his fans. I think that "sogni appesi" is his most important song, for him and for his fans.

This song was written by Giorgia and Eros Ramazzotti. A beautiful melody and a very good singer. But beware of those that say that Giorgia is the best italian singer. Her singing style is quite old fashioned and she no longer sell many records like in the 90es.
