Mankind is already ruined, for the majority of the endings, excluding the canon ones and another couple ones, you end up taking the best route, the route that the game hopes you take, a game about how no one has free will and the characters are stuck in an endless looped cycle, wishes tou break those cycles and take anotherroute entirely, which is what happens in these endings.

@@amirgarcia547 But that's the thing, basically all these characters (literally everyone, including the pods, antagonists, etc) they all had their own epiphanies about existentialism. It's the cliche of the AI learning about emotions and etc... even if it is stereotypical, the plot is awesome... but 9s and Eve suffers with the overacting imo. Their reactions are over the top. The 2b voice actress is incredible, I am a big fan of hers... same goes for a2, they both deliver their lines in a convincing way. Now 9s just screams, it's very cheesy and unnatural. His arc is maybe the best in the entire game, like I said, the writing is pretty good... but the acting is not on the same level. I don't know if the english voice actor did a better job or not, but the japanese actor belongs in the garbage. They need to learn that screams, moans and grunts ≠ emotions. Try to watch a japanese live action, like... let's say the Death Note movie for example, their overacting is disgustingly bad

@@gaelurquiz5755 Because the character is well written, his suffering is believable. Also the masses usually assumes that screaming, moans and grunts = good acting. Emotional outbursts. Anyone can scream really, even me and you, but to make it believable? That's the tricky part. Using anime as the archetype for voice acting... 9s is an example of very bad voice acting, he doesn't sound natural. Bakugou from Boku no Hero is the inverse, his emotional outbursts, the way he cries, screams, etc.. it's very realistic. That's good acting, the guy don't just scream and be done with it (but sadly, Bakugou is nowhere near 9s regarding how he is written)

@@h.2077a MAJOR SPOILER: 2B's real name is 2E, B is battle, E is Execution (or exterminator something like that, haven't played in a while). The 9S models are so good at hacking because they're programmed to be clever and naturally curious so 2B was made to keep 9S and all of his predecessor 9S's in check so he doesn't find out the truth (that humans are extinct) because HE WILL figure it out if left alone. So 2B's job is to kill 9S whenever he gets too close to finding out the truth and then wipe his memory and start him from zero again. That means 2B has had multiple moments where she 'meets' 9S for the first time and she's grown an attachment to him. That's why she says "it always ends like this" because YET AGAIN she had to kill her closest friend and start the process all over again.

But when I tried to insert deadly heal chip, the first "healing" chip you get (anything above normal in this game, anything that has to do with heal becomes a priority), I was just like "why do I have to insert all six at the sametime? I only need 1!" Took me sometime the number after the item is the amount of slots a chip takes on basically your motherboard, not how many I have lol.

And its been shown that they have no idea what to do with their lives are were happy and content serving humans (or what they thought were humans) so their next challenge of recreating humans would be pretty good for a new game

@@twisted4534 I wouldn't say that 2B or A2 were particularly happy with their duty or cared for humanity at all. A2 actively turned away from the supposed mission to protect humanity. Maybe she learned that humanity was dead already somehow, since she had no particular reaction to 9S telling her so, the red girls could have told her during her Pearl Harbor mission or she found out some other way, but that's just speculation on my part. Regardless, she wasn't shown to care for humanity at all, only caring for other androids and Pascal, a little. As for 2B, she was miserable with her mission and didn't show any interest in humanity either. Only 9S seemed to be interested in humanity at all, often wondering "What if we had been humans?". He was the only one to be shocked by the revelation that humanity was extinct, though the nature of YoRHa seemed to have more of an impact on him than the fate of humanity. Even if they decided to rebuild humanity, it would have to be their own decision, not a purpose or order given to them. They have to decide for themselves what they want in the future, not follow orders. A2 already abandoned that thinking long ago, just as 2B arguably went against her orders in Ending C/D/E by influencing A2.

I have mixed feelings about this. I thought them dying so early was an amazing subversion of my expectations and made me want to know what the heck the actual story was going to be. At the same time, I think if they were given some more fleshing out (maybe later in the routes or through more optional side missions) they would have been able to explore some of the more compelling ideas of the game more thoroughly.

Thanks so much for this. With all the Coronavirus crap going on I finally had the time to play this amazing game, and have become quite a rabid fan. Usually I’m a completionist and would have tracked all these down myself (I had maybe 8 or 9) but when the option to sacrifice my data showed up, even though I wasn’t “done” I just felt I had to do it. I think the fact that I had to give up on my dream of getting 100% made the sacrifice feel more “real” somehow. Since I’m not quite ready to jump right back in and start over, being able to watch videos like this (and all the others about the lore and previous games) have just been wonderful. Really makes it feel like a community.

The endings where 2B and/or 9S abandon operations including the destruction of YoRHa makes sense after continued play as to why just two disserters cause everything to all apart. The desertions didn't cause YorHa to fall apart, it was set up to fail. By the way, I got ending O before shutting down any of the AA units.

I don't know if she knows about the extinction. But, she was built for the purpose of specifically killing 9S whenever he finds out about humanity's extinction. Since 9S is a high end model android with a built-in curious personality, it's no surprise that he'll find out sooner or later. When that day comes, 2E a.k.a 2B is ordered to kill 9S. It's implied that the number of times she has killed 9S is (a lot).

(Also a little tidbit of info not in the game but in one of the novellas it's revealed that 9s' prototype is the one who put all of this in place in the first place, he began Project YorHa and hid the truth of humanity being extinct, and he also is the one who installed the backdoor into the YorHa network to let the logic virus get in.)

This means that we do things in the betterment for ourselves whether spiritualy or physicaly and nothing will ever be enough for us as we keep changing and evolving and doing things to make our selves happier, however these androids have a key difference, their gods were real, material and they dont give a single care about themselves, just their gods. They existed to please the humans, the knew what to do, which was please humans and all the things they have ever done or would have ever done was for the betterment of humans. but now after the knowledge that these gods are dead they have literally lost the point of their existance and their goal in life was 1 single thing and without that they are nothing, but for us our goal is not 1 single thing but many, happyness, knowledge, strength, spiritual connection, doing things for other or ourselves. The good thing about our lives is that there is no goal so if we cannot do one thing we do another and atleast we have something to do or strive for. That is why its so sad knowing that the androids have no reason to live as they dont care about knowledge, or their own self gain, so what do they have to achieve by doing anything?

This game is truly amazing, even if it deals with generic concepts, at least the writing is solid and honest. Not self indulgent like David Cage or Kojima, they also write about similar themes, but they do it with such ego and lack of self awareness... "the AI is conscious and sentient, they deserve to live!" ok Cage, you did not discovered the greatest argument in mankind history.
